Graduates of the Physician Assistant Studies program are awarded a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies after completing the 29-month curriculum. Graduates are eligible to take the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination and upon successful completion, are then eligible for state certification/licensure to practice as a certified Physician Assistant. The Physician As

sistant Studies Program at UK was initiated in 1973 and is one of two physician assistant programs in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assitant (ARC-PA), which is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). In 1996, the program was extended to include instruction at Morehead State University. Now, 10 dedicated faculty members, two based at Morehead State University, and eight based in Lexington, provide instruction. Each year, 40 students are admitted to the Lexington campus, and 16 to the Morehead State site. The PA program also offers international opportunities for its students including some who choose to to their clerkship rotations in various countries including Kenya, Swaziland and England. There are also other opportunities within the college to travel internationally on short term trips to Ecuador and Mexico, with other partnerships developing as well. The UK PA Department is seeking part-time faculty members, ideally one day a week. The position is a hybrid, 12-month adjunct appointment requiring both on-campus and remote work. Positions are open and needed at both the Lexington and Morehead campuses.

The exact position will be outlined with the faculty member based on their availability, experience and interests:
1. Assisting with hands-on teaching in PA Masters program lab course in Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Labs occur potentially on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week.
2. Course directing a clinical rotation course which includes grading assignments via canvas, reviewing patient logs, providing students with feedback and support in a clinical course
3. Leading a small group of students for their Masters research project, Fall and Spring semesters
4. Providing didactic lectures in your clinical specialty
5. Supporting students with academic advising, remediation and/or tutoring support
6. Assisting with the curriculum in the PA Residency program
7. Other responsibilities based on programmatic needs include, but are not limited to, small-group teaching/facilitating, participating in admissions interviewing, and assisting with grading OSCE exams.
