For our January , we’d like you to meet Vonita!

She has lived at Barclay House for over a year. She displays our core values with the brightest smile and kindest heart. She embraces living here by being a member of our Decorating Committee and the Deepwood Singers.

If she could give one piece of advice, it would be to stay busy and find something to do that makes you happy.

Fun fact: Vonita has four children whom she loves very much, and she was married to her veteran husband for many years. She loves spending time with her family, crafting, sewing, reading, and doing word puzzles.

Vonita has brought so much life to Barclay House, and we are so lucky to have her!

For some our team members, it all began with visiting a parent and returning each week to bring music and connection through the ukulele club. For others, it started with an unexpected job interview that instantly felt familiar and welcoming. What they all describe is the same feeling of comfort, purpose, and belonging. For our January , we would like to recognize Richard! He has been with Barclay House for three months and has become a vital part of the community.

Richard is one of the bus drivers here at Barclay House. He is an extremely hard worker and always goes above and beyond for residents. He is dedicated to ensuring their safety and happiness.

His favorite part about working at Barclay House is his ability to connect with residents on a personal level and get to know them. He enjoys spending time hearing their stories and discussing their lives.

Fun Fact: He is retired, happily married, and has four wonderful children. He loves spending time with his family, traveling, and anything blue. He hopes to visit all seven continents in the future.
