Meet Meghan!
Meghan is part of our invaluable Client Care Team, and she is often the very first person you speak to when you call or visit The Hearing & Speech Center!
Specialty at HSC: I specialize in insurance verifications, coordinating interpreters, and audiology billing
Best Part of the Job: The best part of my job is working behind the scenes to make sure every family’s billing and insurance process runs smoothly, supporting our team’s mission of helping our clients thrive.
When not in the Office: I enjoy spending time with my family, grabbing a coffee and going shopping, catching up on a good book, or sneaking in a quick nap.

We are so excited to officially unveil our entry into the spectacular Mustard Seed Hill Gingerbread Competition!
Our edible masterpiece celebrates our mission with the theme: "65 Years of Sweet Sounds." This year marks our 65th anniversary of providing sound beginnings for and our house is a sweet tribute to every voice we've helped find.
It took a dedicated team, lots of icing, and a few dropped gumdrops, but we are thrilled with the final result. We were honored to bring home the 2nd place prize!

Mission Moment! ❤️ Nothing tells the story of The Hearing & Speech Center better than the words of the families we serve.
Today, we want to share this powerful reflection from a parent of one of our speech kiddos.
I love The Hearing & Speech Center because...
HSC has made a remarkable difference in Liliana’s life. As a child with autism, Liliana's communication has always been one of her biggest challenges. When we first came to the Center, she barely talked and struggled to express her needs or participate in conversations.
Her speech therapist, Jessica Bosley, has played a tremendous role in her progress. Jessica always involves us as parents in developing a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to Liliana’s needs. She takes time to understand what motivates her, and she thoughtfully incorporates those interests into each session. One of the most meaningful examples is how Jessica uses Peppa Pig, Liliana’s favorite cartoon character, in activities to keep her engaged, comfortable, and excited to learn. She takes time to explain each treatment goal, why it matters, and how she plans to help Liliana achieve it. After every session, she provides us with a practice sheet or activities we can use at home, ensuring that Liliana continues to build skills outside the therapy room.
Jessica also goes above and beyond by staying in close communication with Liliana’s school team and her ABA therapist. This collaboration has created a consistent, unified approach that has greatly contributed to Liliana’s success.
Because of this thoughtful and individualized approach, we’ve watched Liliana make steady and meaningful improvements. Her vocabulary has expanded, she communicates her needs more clearly, and she starts to participate in social interactions with growing confidence. Most importantly, she truly enjoys going to the Center! In addition, the front desk staff are always friendly and welcoming, making every visit a positive experience from start to finish.
We are deeply grateful to Jessica and the entire team at The Hearing and Speech Center. They have not only helped Liliana improve her communication skills—they have helped her find her voice. For that, we will always be thankful.
What would you like other Kentuckians to know about HSC?
Families across the state deserve access to this level of care, compassion, and expertise. What they provide is more than therapy—they provide hope, support, and life-changing progress for children and their families. I wholeheartedly encourage other parents to seek out this incredible team.

Since 1960, The Hearing & Speech Center has been committed to a mission of teaching children with hearing, speech and language impairments to listen and talk by providing them with high quality educational, therapeutic and family support services. The Hearing & Speech Center (HSC) was founded in 1960 as the Lexington Deaf Oral School and has been Central Kentucky’s leader in oral deaf education for preschool children ever since. Today, HSC’s programs offer the comprehensive educational, clinical and care services for a family dealing with hearing loss and/or speech/language delays in one location.
In 2019, HSC provided educational, hearing, and speech services to over 1,200 individuals from over 65 counties across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. HSC’s goal is for children and adults to leave HSC with the language and independence to be active participants in their community and that no one is defined by their communication delay.
The Hearing & Speech Center programs include:
1. Hearing and Hearing Aid Services for all ages (including auditory testing, middle ear evaluations, and hearing aid evaluations and consultations.) Beginning in 2018, LHSC is now able to provide Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for infants.
2. Cochlear Implant Services (including audiological and speech perception assessments, pre-and post-implant training for patient and family, programming the device, and auditory-verbal therapy).
3. Speech/Language Therapy Services -including speech/language evaluations, aural (re) habilitation, Listening and Spoken Language therapies, speech/language therapy, and early intervention collaboration. In 2018, HSC began providing listening and spoken language services via tele-intervention.
4. Early Learning Center providing quality educational programming focused on teaching all children both with and without hearing or speech/language delays to listen and talk, serving children 6 weeks of age through kindergarten.
