In CBT, we learn that thoughts are mental events, not facts. Our brains produce thousands of them every day, and many are distorted, unhelpful, or rooted in old fears.

When you start noticing your thoughts instead of automatically believing them, you gain the power to question their accuracy, replace them with more balanced perspectives, and choose behaviors that support your values.

🌱 Remember: Your thoughts can inform you, but they don’t have to define you. 🌱

You don’t have to wrestle with your thoughts alone. At Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness Practices, our counselors are here to help you explore, reframe, and move forward with more peace of mind.

Ever find yourself Googling symptoms at 2 a.m., convinced it's something serious? Or are you feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to be 'perfectly healthy'?

You're not alone.

We're starting a new support group for Health Anxiety, led by two licensed counselors, Emmy Greene, LPCA and Megan Farrar, LPCA. Each week includes live webinars led by licensed clinicians, printable resources and reflection prompts, and/or educational content focused on topics like body image, nutrition, and the impact of social media. You'll also have access to a safe, validating community of people who understand what you're going through.

You might notice old patterns resurfacing or symptoms returning, and it’s tempting to think, “I thought I was past this.”

Here’s the truth: Revisiting old stuff doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It often means you’re ready to face it differently, this time with more insight, strength, and tools than before!

You’re not starting over. You’re moving forward 🌿

Feelings can feel huge when we don’t know what to call them, but when we pause to name what we’re feeling, our brain begins to calm down.
It’s called "Name It to Tame It" and it’s more than a cute phrase! It is a tool for emotional regulation.

Try it this week:
- Instead of saying “I feel bad,” get specific.
- Use a feelings wheel to expand your emotional vocabulary.
- Practice saying it out loud or writing it down.

🌱 The more we practice naming emotions, the more control we build over how we respond to them.
