Looking for something fun and educational to do this summer? Now introducing Build Wellness: a Life Skills Learning Series at Build Inclusion! This learning series is designed to educate, empower, and encourage teens and young adults to be more confident in navigating adult life in the community. In this 7-week course, participants will have hands-on experiences, opportunities to engage with professionals from the community, and time to network and foster relationships with other participants. The series will teach participants about a wide range of fundamental topics surrounding life skills such as taking care of their mental health, healthy relationships, financial literacy, goal setting, employment skills, and more. The SILC is excited to share the agenda for the 2026 Youth Summit being held on June 11-12, 2026 in Lexington, KY! We invite disabled youth ages 14-24 to attend this event, learn about topics such as advocacy and disability pride, and meet others across the state. A more detailed agenda will be available soon.

Youth Sessions
3 Youth Sessions will be held including:
-Youth led peer discussion
-Disability history
-Youth led reflections

Parent Sessions
Parents and trusted adults will attend 3 sessions including:
-A youth and parent perspective
-Alternatives to Guardianship-HDI and P&A
-Peer Support

Group Debrief-Youth will lead a large group conversation reflecting on the Youth Summit which will be facilitated by DAIL Commissioner, Victoria Elridge.

*Breakfast and lunch will be provided for attendees on both days*
