The message Commissioner Pruitt sent to education shareholders is listed below:
Dear Education Shareholders,
It is with great excitement that I invite you to attend one of my upcoming town hall meetings. Soon, I will be embarking on an 11-stop listening tour to gather input to assist the Kentucky Department of Education in designing a new accountability system. My goal is to collaborate with all shareholders across the state to produce a system that is fair, reliable, valid and simpler.
Your feedback on this critically important topic is essential, so please plan on attending one of the sessions, "Education Town Hall Meetings: How does Kentucky define school success?" We must work together to shape a new accountability system that accurately measures the success of Kentucky's students, schools and districts.
Below is a list of the meetings and their locations. The time of each is 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. local time.

For those who may not be able to attend a meeting in person, an online meeting will be offered at a future date. As a third alternative we have set up a special e-mail, KyEdListens@education.ky.gov, for you to submit your thoughts.
Also, I ask that you help us spread the word about these forums throughout your schools, districts and communities. A flier is attached for your convenience.
I really want you to attend the meeting that is the closest to your community and look forward to seeing you. Working with you to improve Kentucky's public schools and student achievement is truly an honor for me as Kentucky's new commissioner of education.
Sincerely,
Stephen L. Pruitt, Ph.D.
