Welcome Stefanie Shepherd, PMHNP-BC

Bluegrass Family and Extended Care is proud to welcome Stefanie Shepherd, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based mental health care.

Stefanie provides psychiatric services to children (age 5 and older), adolescents, and adults, with a clinical focus on general psychiatry, psychopharmacology, individualized medication management, and comprehensive treatment planning. Her goal is to help patients achieve long-term mental wellness through thoughtful, personalized care.

Originally born in Lexington, Kentucky, and raised in Ashland, Kentucky, Stefanie brings both professional expertise and a deep connection to the communities she serves. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 11 years before becoming a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a role she has served in for the past six years.

Stefanie earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky, her Master’s Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, and completed her Post-Master’s Certificate at Northern Kentucky University. She is licensed in the state of Kentucky and has extensive experience in outpatient psychiatric care, where she partners closely with patients and families to support lasting mental health.

Her approach emphasizes thorough assessment, patient and family education, and shared decision-making. Stefanie is committed to creating a supportive, respectful environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

Bluegrass Family and Extended Care is excited to have Stefanie join our team and looks forward to continuing to provide high-quality mental health care to our community.
