National Assisted Living Week provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding comm​​unities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. This year's theme for National Assisted Living Week is "Ageless Adventure." September 7th-13th. Our theme will be focused on the “Great Outdoors.” We look forward to everyone joining in the fun together!

Our residents enjoyed a Lifeloop Game of “What Would You Do?” with our host with the most James. Games that encourage conversation and critical thinking, like “What Would You Do?”, are fantastic for seniors. They spark meaningful dialogue, keep the mind sharp, and often lead to laughter and connection. These kinds of games help improve memory, support emotional wellness, and reduce feelings of isolation—especially in group settings. Plus, they’re a fun way to share stories and life experiences, making every round both entertaining and enriching!

We enjoyed a refreshing outing to McConnell Springs Park, where our residents had the opportunity to take a peaceful walk surrounded by nature. Spending time outdoors offers more than just a change of scenery—it promotes physical health, reduces stress, and uplifts the spirit. Nature walks like these are especially beneficial for seniors, helping to improve mobility, boost mood, and create a deeper sense of connection to the world around them.

We had a great time Mingling over Mixers recently! Our Community Relations Director, Tiffany Sawaf and Chef Tanya Priddy put their heads together to make it a fun evening! We invited all our residents as well as any possible future residents to join us! We dined on homemade beer cheese, fresh pico, corn dip as well as a selection of draft beer, watermelon and strawberry basil margaritas!

Vinyl with James this month covered music from the Delta Blues. We talked about Mamie Smith from Cincinnati, OH. She was the first African-American to be recorded singing "Crazy Blues." We also discussed Son House. He is known for his passionate and emotional singing style and guitar playing.
