Hi, I'm Elzaba Anderson, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), owner of MadeWell Counseling & Therapy and a proud member of the American Counseling Association, Kentucky Counseling Association, and the Christian Association for Psychological Studies. πŸ€πŸ“š

My counseling approach is evidence-based and integrative, drawing from attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), as well as mindfulness practices and breathing techniques. πŸ§ πŸ’«

🌟 Embracing Vulnerability: Confronting Anxiety 🌟

πŸ’• Today, we want to get real and talk about something many of us experience but often avoid discussing openly: anxiety. πŸ§ πŸ’­

Anxiety is like an uninvited guest that sometimes overstays its welcome. It can be overwhelming, but the one thing I've learned is that avoiding it only makes it worse. πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ

When we steer clear of situations that trigger anxiety, it might provide momentary relief, but it reinforces the idea that those situations are genuinely dangerous. Our minds start to believe that we can't handle them, and the anxiety grows stronger. 😰

So here's a thought: instead of running away from anxiety, let's face it head-on! πŸ’ͺπŸ’« When we confront our fears and anxieties, we chip away at their power over us. It's like turning on the light in a dark room – suddenly, those monsters under the bed don't seem so scary. 🌟✨

Here are a few tips that can help:

1️⃣ Deep breathing: Slow, deep breaths can help calm your nervous system.
2️⃣ Mindfulness: Practice being present and accepting your feelings without judgment.
3️⃣ Seek support: Talk to friends, family, or a professional who can offer guidance.
4️⃣ Step-by-step: Break big challenges into smaller, manageable steps.
