It's been a minute since we've talked about our team! I'm Cara Boyd, a LSCSW meaning I'm a Social Worker who provides counseling. I am originally from New Mexico but have called Kansas/Oklahoma my home for about 11 years. I graduated from KU in 2018 with my Master's in Social Work. I have a total of 11 years experience in social work with the past 7 in mental health.
I enjoy working with youth and adults. I have experience working with those with trauma, anxiety, and depression.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, fishing, and traveling. I'm a wife, I'm a mom of 3 kids, including a teen and pre-teen. I understand the challenges of balancing a career with a family. I work Tuesday through Friday in office from 8-3 pm and answer the phone Monday and after 3 pm off-site.

Maria Gutierrez, is from the Seward County area. Maria is fluent in Spanish and provides sessions in Spanish or English. She is a LMSW which means she graduated with her Master's in Social Work and is earning her clinical license by practicing and receiving supervision from a LSCSW. She has experience in corrections, with adolescents, and with addictions. She enjoys working with teens and adults! Maria works Monday-Thursday in office from 10am-5 pm.

Melanie King, has been our newest addition. She's a billing specialist and amazing addition! She works off site making sure we bill insurance for you and answering questions about billing. She works hard having conversations with insurance so we can focus our attention on our clients!

At Coffee Talk Counseling we have two therapists who provide mental health counseling. We do bill several insurances. Some insurances cover mental health 100% and others require co pays or do not cover. If you wonder, you can always contact your insurance and learn more directly from them about your coverage by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.
