The Blessing of a Christmas Tree 🎄

I discovered this lovely little prayer in “Sister Karol’s Book of Spells, Blessings & Folk Magic” by Karol Jackowski

Whether you bring in a real tree or put up a fake one (like me lol no shame!), before you turn on the lights:
🎄Smoke cleanse with your favorite incense.. I use frankincense and myrrh, given to Yeshua at His birth by the Magi.

Blessed Mary, Undoer of Knots is a powerful devotion and novena of the Madonna always readily available and wanting to intercede for our most difficult “knots” of life. 🪢

There are many images of the Madonna, but Our Lady as the Undoer of Knots always tugged at my soul and subconscious (pun not quite intended lol). I’d be lying if I said I know for certain when this particular devotion came to hold such a special place in my heart, but it’s the one that most resonated for me.

It wasn’t until 2013 that the Undoer of Knots gained significant public notoriety, largely due to Pope Francis being gifted a copy of this powerful image. But the original painting has been venerated in the Church of St Peter in Germany since 1700. This painting was inspired not from a visitation from Our Lady (like in Lourdes or Fatima); instead, it was inspired by the words of St Irenaeus drawing comparison between Eve and Mary, in a similar way that St Paul drew comparison between Adam and Jesus Christ.

While today is not her feast day (that’s September 28th, although not on the “official” Roman Catholic calendar), I bring attention to this devotion as we all have knots that we would like seen undone in our lives, whether that’s financial, relational, personal, or otherwise. I can’t express how many times I’ve felt called to share about the Undoer of Knots with my community and clients I’ve worked with.

Remember, this isn’t about worshipping the Blessed Mother, the angels, or the saints as deities, but rather asking as you would a trusted and loving friend or family member for their prayers, love and support. 💕

This is the Tarot kit I bought when I was 16 (I’m in my early thirties now lol) …. and my mom told me to return it as she held the rule that I needed to be older and understand my faith in Christ.

Looking back on it, she was absolutely right to make this decision. 🥰

I’m so glad it came back into my possession through meeting a fellow vendor at Bull City BOOs Fest that had a copy of this deck. While I doubt it is the actual deck I bought and returned originally, I’m really happy to have this deck more for the five minutes of nostalgia than to really read with.

Something that stood out to me is how very simplistic the imagery is, and I’ve concluded that had I started studying tarot at 16 with this deck, I would absolutely have missed a great majority of the necessary symbolism I needed to gain a solid understanding of the cards.
