Effective immediately, Mindfulness Matters Psychotherapy is no longer accepting new clients with Beacon, Carelon, or NYSHIP insurance plans.

This change does NOT affect any current clients. If you are already receiving services with us using one of these plans, you may continue as usual.

We remain in-network with several other insurance providers and continue to welcome new clients with those plans, as well as private pay.

If you have questions about insurance or scheduling, please contact our office.

Ever wonder what happens at a Therapy Session? Read our latest post

Your first therapy session focuses on getting to know you. We’ll ask what brings you in, what’s worked (and hasn’t) in the past, and what a “good outcome” would look like. Together we set a few clear, doable goals - reducing anxiety, sleeping better, improving relationships, processing tra...

🌿 Fun Fact Friday!
Did you know that your brain can’t tell the difference between imagining a calm place and actually being in one? 🧠✨
When you visualize a peaceful scene — like waves rolling on the shore or sunlight through trees — your nervous system starts to relax, your heart rate slows, and your body produces fewer stress hormones.

🧘‍♀️ Try this:
Close your eyes and picture a place where you feel completely at ease.
Notice:
🌊 What do you see?
🎶 What do you hear?
🌬️ What does the air feel like on your skin?

Take three slow breaths while holding that image.
Your body just got a mini vacation. 💙

NEW! Clinical Supervision & EMDR Consultation
with Jill Harmon, LCSW-R, CCTP-II
EMDR Certified Therapist • EMDRIA-Approved Consultant

Jill is an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant and all consultation hours provided may be applied toward EMDRIA Certification requirements when applicable.

Are you building confidence with EMDR and looking for support from someone who actually uses it every day in real clinical work?

I now offer individual and group EMDR consultation for therapists who are:

• Completing consultation hours toward EMDR Certification
• Newly trained and wanting support using EMDR in real cases
• Experienced clinicians refining their EMDR skills in complex trauma work

My approach is collaborative and supportive — consultation is a space to think out loud, get unstuck, and grow without criticism or performance pressure.
