Thank you to all of our firefighters. You are heroes. ❤️
Once a Firefighter, Always a Firefighter. It’s not just a career — it’s who you are.
Even after retirement, that instinct never fades. You still turn your head when you hear sirens. You notice the glow of emergency lights before anyone else. You catch the faint smell of smoke in the air and your mind starts working through the possibilities.
That calling doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.
At the Liberty Fire Department, we recognize and honor those who came before us — the men and women who built this department, shaped our culture, and passed down the knowledge, experience, and traditions that guide us today.
Your impact is still felt on every call, in every decision, and in every firefighter who carries that legacy forward.
And just as you’ve always taken care of others, it’s important that we continue to take care of you. Mental health matters — even in retirement. The things seen and experienced over a career don’t simply fade with time. Staying connected, checking in on one another, and reaching out when needed is just as important now as it was on the job. Please remember, our Chaplain- Billy Combs and our Peer Support Members are there for you.
We are proud to follow in your footsteps.
We are grateful for your service.
And we will never forget the foundation you built.
