Come to Liberty
Liberty Tribune August 14, 1908
Liberty is having quite a building boom. Residents of the town are building new houses and other people are moving here to reside. A united effort of our citizens should be made to impress upon people elsewhere the advantages our town has and set forth the fact that it is a most desirable place for a home. The number of new residents we are gaining should be greatly increased.
The Commercial Club or city council should take up the matter for by an organized effort much good would surely result. A better place for a home cannot be found. There are many wealthy farmers, especially northwest Missouri, and in other localities who would like to move to a place like Liberty and would come here if they knew and understood that we have an ideal town for a home.
In the first place, Liberty is well located and has the train service of three trunk line railroads. We are close enough to a great city to enjoy its advantages. Our colleges and schools are known over the west and the best of educational advantages are offered. We have prosperous churches and a splendid class of people. The saloons have been banished and public sentiment is strongly against the liquor evil.
Liberty has pure and good water from its waterworks plant, and an electric light plant that gives a day and night service which towns much larger towns do not always have. Bonds have been voted for a sewerage system. Granitoid walks extend over nearly every street in town, and we have free delivery of mails. [sic]
We hope the Commercial Club or city council will start a movement to set forth and advertise the many inducements we can offer as a residence town.
