Re: Wyandotte County, KS, Tuberculosis outbreak.

While treatable with antibiotics, tuberculosis outbreaks can be difficult to control due to latent tuberculosis, where the individual is contagious but feels no symptoms of the disease.
Transmission person to person involves exposure to water droplets from a cough, sneeze, speaking, or singing. Tuberculosis is carried by a number of species of livestock popular in the Midwest, and can be transmitted by flies, mosquitos, or consuming improperly prepared food products like raw milk.
