It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Daniel Triplett.

Dr. Triplett was a founding physician of Northland Obstetrics & Gynecology and played an instrumental role in shaping women’s healthcare in the Kansas City Northland. Since the early days of our practice, beginning in 1967, his dedication to providing exceptional, compassionate care helped establish the strong foundation we continue to build upon today.

Over the course of his remarkable career, Dr. Triplett delivered thousands of babies, touching the lives of countless families in our community. He was deeply committed to his patients and took great pride in his work at both North Kansas City Hospital and Liberty Hospital, where he was also a founding member and performed its first surgery.

For decades, Dr. Triplett was a trusted, steady presence and a physician who truly made a difference. His legacy will live on through the many lives he impacted and the standard of care he helped set.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched.

Yesterday we welcomed Thiago, our First Baby of the New Year! He and his mom, Tania, are doing well and enjoying a basket of gifts provided by The University of Kansas Health System.

Please allow a little extra time to get to your appointment tomorrow afternoon as there will be brief road closures for a funeral procession.

Below is the route for the funeral procession honoring Fire Captain Raymond McElwee on Wednesday, October 29. All roads highlighted will be closed to traffic in both directions as the processional passes. It is estimated that the processional will leave Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at 3 p.m. and could take more than an hour to make its way through Liberty past Fire Station 2, where Captain McElwee was stationed, and on to Cowgill Cemetery in Cowgill, MO.

The route for the funeral procession is as follows -
From Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, turn right onto Rte 291
Turn right on Liberty Drive
Turn left on Kent Street (Fire Station 2 is located at 1040 Kent St.)
Turn right on Rte 291
Turn left on Leonard Street
Follow Leonard as it turns into Lightburne Street

Those not attending the graveside service will be directed to turn right on US 69 while the rest of the procession continues on I-35 north.

Thank you for your patience as we honor the longstanding tradition for fire funeral processions to go by the station where the fallen had served.
