Bartle Funeral Home Funeral home The Bartle family began the undertaking profession in Casey County over 100 years ago. Many Casey residents still remember Mrs. Harvey Jr.

Charles Henry Bartle established the first undertaking business in Liberty. The Bartle family's century of service starting with Charles Henry Bartle, Charles Harvey (Harvey Sr.), Harvey Miracle (Harvey Jr.), Betty Bartle Clark the current owner, and her daughter Stephanie Murphy, who represents the fifth generation. Charles Harvey Bartle assumed sole ownership of the business in 1910 and with the valued assistance of his wife Auda Miracle Bartle served as a funeral director into his 90th year. Auda for her decades of selfless and untiring work for the American Red Cross until her death in 1982. In 1953 Harvey Miracle Bartle assumed half interest and then full interest in Bartle Funeral Home in 1958. celebrated a half a century as a funeral director in 1992. began his work career at the age of 16 at his father's side. After serving his country in the United States Naval Submarine Service during World War II, Harvey Jr. returned to the family profession and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 1949. Harvey Jr., still tells about the centerpiece of his father& #8217;s profession, which was a horse drawn carriage operated by Dow Sharp. Bartle funeral home purchased its first motor-powered hearse in 1927. The Middleburg branch, formerly Miller funeral home was purchased in 1977. In February of 1995 Tommy Clark joined the Bartle family and assists his wife Betty Bartle Clark. Stephanie Murphy the fifth generation was licensed as a funeral home director in December 2009.
