It is never easy to say goodbye to a member of our family, but today we mourn the passing of a truly remarkable woman.
Merita Ross.
Merita was a pillar of the Liberty Community Living Center family for six and a half years. She didn't just live here; she led here. Serving as Resident Council President, Merita was a fierce advocate for her fellow residents. She took her role as an orientation liaison seriously, ensuring every new face felt welcomed and informed from day one. Many of you will also remember her sharp wit and dedication to our monthly newsletter, which she took great pride in writing.

Merita was the heartbeat of our community’s celebrations. She made it her personal mission to ensure that no birthday—whether it belonged to a resident or a staff member—went unacknowledged. 🎂

To know Merita was to know exactly where you stood. She kept our staff on their toes with her high standards; she was never afraid to make her displeasure known when things weren't right, but she was equally quick to share her immense pride in the work our team did. That honesty was her gift to us, and it pushed us all to be better.

Our home feels a little quieter today without her presence. Merita, thank you for your leadership, your dedication, and for keeping us all in line for over half a decade. You will be greatly missed. 🕊️❤️

Congratulations to our very own **Brandy Wheat**! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Brandy for her outstanding dedication and expertise as an MDS Nurse. With 7 years of experience under her belt, Brandy’s hard work has officially been recognized with the Region 3 Award for PDPM Excellence! 🏆

Brandy’s impact goes far beyond our own walls. She has spent significant time traveling to other Region 3 centers, sharing her deep knowledge to educate and train fellow MDS staff on PDPM and case mix. Her commitment to excellence and her passion for teaching others make her a true leader in our field.

🎁 A Christmas Miracle at Liberty Community Living Center! 🎄✨

Our hearts are absolutely overflowing today! We wanted to take a moment to send a massive THANK YOU to our incredible community, our dedicated employees, and the wonderful team at Enhabit Hospice.

Because of your overwhelming generosity and coordination, we are thrilled to share that every single one of our residents received presents this year! 🎅❤

It wasn't just about the gifts under the tree; it was about the smiles, the laughter, and the pure joy of knowing they are loved and remembered by so many. From the staff who went above and beyond to shop and wrap, to the community members and Enhabit Hospice partners who stepped up to make sure no one was left out—you all truly embodied the spirit of Christmas.

Seeing the joy on our residents' faces as they opened their surprises is a memory we will cherish. Thank you for making sure that the "Magic of the Season" was felt by everyone in our home.

We are so blessed to live and work in such a caring community!

🎄 What Happens at the Ugly Sweater Party... Stays at the Party! 🤫💃

Our staff pulled out all the stops today for our Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, and let’s just say—the sweaters weren't the only things making a statement!

We had an absolute blast dancing the afternoon away, but we have a strict "No Evidence" policy regarding the dance floor. 🚫📸 Those photos and videos are staying in the vault because we simply cannot have proof of the moves this crew can bust out! Some things are better left to the imagination (and kept off the internet)! 🕺✨

When we weren't "not dancing," we were busy feastin'! A huge thank you for the incredible spread of:
* 🍗 BBQ Chicken Wings
* 🍝 Cheesy Lasagna & Garlic Bread
* 🍢 Savory Sausage Balls
* 🫘 Famous Baked Beans
* 🍰 ...and enough desserts to keep us on a sugar high until New Year's!

To top it all off, every staff member got to throw their name in the bucket for some awesome prize drawings! 🎁🎟️

We love our team and the joy they bring to our building every day—even if they do have some questionable dance moves and even more questionable sweaters.

🌟 Audit Excellence at Liberty Community Living Center! 🌟

We have some incredible news to share! Our team just sailed through our annual case mix audit from Medicare and Medicaid with flying colors! 🎊

We want to give a special shoutout to Brandy Wheat, who joined our team in July. Bringing 7 years of specialized knowledge and experience, Brandy’s incredible attention to detail was instrumental in this success.

In true team player fashion, when thanked for her hard work, Brandy was quick to share the credit. She noted that the vital support and guidance from our Administrator, Stephanie Andrews, and Director of Nursing, Catrena Cotton(not pictured), were what truly made this achievement possible. 🤝❤️

We were also honored to have Holly Madden travel all the way from the MS Coast to hand-deliver our certificate and celebrate this victory with the team! 📜✨

Success like this doesn’t happen by accident—it happens because of a dedicated staff that cares about doing things the right way for our residents.

🎄 From Crafts to Christmas Carols—and Concert Moves! 🎤😂

A massive thank you to the wonderful Amite County VoTech Business and Technical students for spending the morning with our residents!
The students did an amazing job leading a fun Christmas craft session and then spreading cheer with some beautiful carols. Our residents absolutely loved the time and talent shared by these bright young people!

**However, we need to talk about Ms. Crystal!** 🤣

During the rendition of "All I Want For Christmas Is You," Ms. Crystal completely stole the show with a sudden outbreak of full Mariah Carey choreography! We think she might have a secret life as a pop diva. Our residents were laughing, singing along, and giving her a hefty round of applause!

Thank you again to all the students and the multi-talented Ms. Crystal for bringing so much joy and entertainment to Liberty Community Living Center!
