🌟🌟Staff Spotlight🌟🌟

This week we are highlighting one of our wonderful nurses, Evie Smith!
Evie has been at LHW for 4.5 years and we have loved every second with her!
Learn some more about Evie below!
🌟Favorite part about working at LHW: The residents and learning about their different diagnoses and using my skills to assist in treating them, watching them heal from the inside out!
🌟Favorite LHW memory: We had a resident whose name was Elfa, she would sing to us when she knew we were sad, she would always make us smile, she lived to 99!
🌟Why LHW: They borrowed me from a sister facility for the weekend and I loved it and it was a better drive for me. So I transferred in a weeks time.
🌟Fun facts about Evie: I love to garden, green thumb, fav places to vaca are the mountains and I want to see the ocean for a 2nd time!!!!!!

Yesterday the residents got to enjoy some white chocolate covered puff corn with toppings and some pizza with some good music going. Thank you activities and HR they enjoyed it

Yesterday we had the sweetest visitor, Billie! Residents loved getting to spend time with her, and Billie loved meeting (and sniffing 😉) everyone!🐾🤍

We want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who made this week possible with this crazy weather!

Thank you to our maintenance department for shoveling, plowing, and salting our sidewalks and parking lots, along with providing rides to other staff members. Your commitment to keeping staff and residents safe is so appreciated!

Another huge thank you to ALL staff who came in despite conditions, many of which stayed over night the entire weekend to ensure our residents were well taken care of.

We are also incredibly grateful for the Midwest Krawlers. This is a volunteer group that helps healthcare workers arrive safely to work in unsafe conditions. They provided rides to many of our staff members and we truly couldn’t have done this without them!

While this weather has been less than ideal, we haven’t let it stop us from providing the best possible care to our residents. It takes a village and we are so thankful for everyone! 💙❄️

🌟🌟Staff Spotlight🌟🌟

This week we are highlighting one of our wonderful nurses, Geri Vermillion!
Geri has been at LHW for 2 years and we love having her positive energy in the building!

🌟Favorite part about working at LHW: I LOVE my residents and coworkers. No matter how bad some days seem, there's always someone nearby with a hug or a smile.
🌟Favorite LHW memory: Passing state surveys is my favorite memory! Shows us that teamwork makes the dream work!
🌟Why LHW: A former coworker saw me at a basketball game after I graduated nursing school and offered me a job. I knew long-term care is where my heart was and I don't regret it one bit!
🌟Fun facts about Geri: I love being outside in nature. I love bass fishing and have won multiple tournaments!

Happy New Year!!! 🎉
We have had so much fun celebrating the start of 2025 together at LHW!!
Our New Year’s eve party was a hit and residents loved getting to play bingo with popcorn on New Year’s day!
Thank you to everyone who helped make these events so special! ❤️✨

We have had a busy holiday season here at LHW! Our staff had a blast at our staff Christmas party and residents enjoyed recieving gifts from Santa, listening to some lovely carolers, and making so many unique ornaments! ❤️💚

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and we are looking forward to another amazing year at LHW!! 🎉
