The White Pumpkin

To some, it’s simply a fall decoration. But to many, it carries a much deeper meaning.

The month of October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. Each white pumpkin represents a baby gone too soon… a tiny life that left an everlasting imprint on this world and on the hearts that loved them most.

This month, and always, we honor the little ones in Heaven and the families who hold them close in their hearts.

Very interesting, I felt the need to share.

Did you know dad’s DNA is primarily responsible for creating the placenta?

Yep. The organ that grows the baby. Feeds the baby. Keeps the baby alive.

The placenta is built almost entirely from his genetic material.

So while dad doesn’t get to physically carry the baby for 9 months, his DNA is working quietly behind the scenes, helping build and nourish that baby the entire time.

And when that DNA doesn’t code things just right, it can contribute to complications like:
• Preeclampsia
• Placental abruption
• Miscarriage
• IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction)
• Stillbirth

Pregnancy isn’t just about one body doing all the work.
It’s two people, two sets of genes, two stories coming together to create one little life.

Sometimes that story is smooth.
Sometimes it’s not.
But the truth is, from the very first cell both parents are part of the journey.
