EMDR trained "The good life is a process, not a state of being.

It is a direction not a destination". - Carl Rogers. Life is a journey in which we experience a variety of challenges and emotions. During difficult times it can be beneficial to reach out to someone for extra support. My goal is to provide you a comfortable space where you feel heard and understood. We will work together to utilize your strengths in order to promote growth and change in a healthy way. I strongly value the therapeutic relationship built on respect, open communication, and trust. As a client you will find a safe, empathic and accepting counseling environment. I use a person centered, strengths based approach which focuses on your individual strengths and maintains a positive perspective. You will be encouraged and challenged while stretching yourself! Along with talk therapy we will integrate art, play and nature. You will leave session with a new perspective and ideas to use in your daily life. I would love the opportunity to work with you. I look forward to speaking with you so we can discuss your counseling needs. I am happy to answer any questions you have about the counseling process. Call, message, or email me to receive your free phone consultation. "Its about progress not perfection."

This is a come as you are accepting space where we unpack challenging stuff at your pace. Big feelings welcome, messy moments allowed; where healing is likely to happen. 🫶🏻🧠❤️

January can feel surprisingly heavy.

The build-up is over.
The lights come down.
The routines return; while the same holiday energy doesn’t.

This “January let-down” isn’t a lack of gratitude or motivation.
It’s a nervous system response.

After weeks of stimulation, connection, disruption, and expectation, the body needs time to recalibrate. Kids often show this through big feelings or behavior. Adults tend to feel it as exhaustion, irritability, or a quiet sense of meh.

What helps isn’t a resolution, it’s gentleness with ourselves.

• Fewer expectations (for a little while)
• Predictable rhythms
• Extra connection before correction
• Letting winter be slower, on purpose

A few small things that can help the nervous system right now:
• Consistent mornings and bedtimes
• More daylight and fresh air when possible
• Warmth, pressure, and rest (cozy clothes, hugs, warm drink, quiet moments)
• Gentle stretches or yoga
• Deep breath (breathe in for 4 & breathe out 6-8)
• Check in with yourself; What feels supportive right now?

January isn’t meant to be a sprint.
It’s a soft landing.

Less pressure.
More predictability.
Extra kindness.

As we step into 2026, I wish you space to be more intentional with yourself; honoring your needs, your pace, and your healing. You don’t have to rush or reinvent anything. Small steps still matter, and showing up counts. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

The power of PLAY!

In this picture, I see:
🧠 Problem-solving; “How do I balance the tunnel?, What if I move the chair?”
💪 Gross-motor challenges; climbing, crawling, testing strength and coordination.
💛 Emotional resilience; trying, stumbling, adjusting, and trying again.
🎯 Executive functioning; planning, sequencing, shifting ideas so it works how they want it to.
🗣️ Communication skills; asking for help, explaining their idea, creating a game or atoryline.
🛡️ Safety + empowerment; building a world they can control, explore, and make mistakes in.

Play is not a break from the work…
Play is the work!

When a child builds, knocks down, rearranges, climbs, hides, invents, and experiments…
They’re doing the deep nervous-system wiring that talk alone can’t reach.

🧘‍♂️This is where regulation grows.
💪This is where confidence grows.
👥This is where connection grows.

& this is where healing happens;
one hideout and one brave new idea at a time.
