At The Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Libertyville, we are committed to helping you or a loved one recover after a serious illness or injury. After a stroke, brain injury, hip fracture or other complex orthopedic or neurological condition, our expert clinicians combine the latest technologies with real-world simulations and advanced therapies to help you achieve your goals. Your care team will include physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy experts; rehabilitation physicians and nurses; case managers; dietitians; and more. While at our rehabilitation hospital you will receive 24/7 nursing care and three hours of therapy five days a week.

Tom was in a car accident and suffered head trauma, multiple fractures and complications that required dialysis. When he arrived at Encompass Health, he needed help with basic tasks.

Through expert care and determination, Tom regained strength and independence. By discharge, he was walking 350 feet on his own—a goal that once seemed impossible.

“I didn’t believe I could walk again, but with determination, I knew I could,” Tom said.

After a prolonged hospital stay due to organ failure, Edward Loscar arrived at our hospital needing significant assistance. Recovery felt overwhelming, but through intensive therapy, determination and a dedicated care team, everything changed. Edward was thrilled when he gained the ability to walk around our therapy gym. His strength, endurance and independence improved every day. Edward shared that his favorite parts of rehabilitation were his supportive therapists, doctors who truly listened and explained his care, and the food.

Stories like Edward’s remind us why we do what we do. Congratulations, Edward!

Our amazing team brought the Halloween spirit to life with fun and creative costumes. From classic characters to clever group themes, everyone went all out to make this year’s celebration one to remember.

Congratulations to our costume contest winner, the Cowardly Lion, worn by Kelsey, our director of case management. Her creativity and Halloween spirit truly stole the show.
