5 facts about 26&2 Bikram Hot Yoga!!!

1. It’s Always 26 + 2
Bikram Yoga follows a fixed sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises—every class, every time. The consistency is meant to systematically work every part of the body.

2. The Heat Is Intentional 🔥
Classes are practiced in a heated room. The heat is designed to warm muscles, increase flexibility, and promote sweating (which many associate with detoxification).

3. It Was Designed as a “Prescription” Practice
Bikram Choudhury structured the sequence to target specific organs, glands, and systems—almost like a full-body therapeutic routine practiced in order.

4. It’s a Moving Meditation
Because the sequence never changes, students often drop out of “thinking mode” and into a deeply focused, meditative state. The repetition becomes grounding and almost trance-like.

5. It’s Not the Same as “Hot Yoga”
“Hot yoga” is a general term for any heated class, but Bikram Yoga is a specific format with a set sequence, timing, and dialogue. Not all hot classes follow this structure.

Have you ever noticed that your energy, focus, and even digestion seem to peak at certain times of the day? This 24-hour circadian clock (inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine) maps when different organ systems are believed to be most active—so you can work with your body instead of against it.

🌞 Morning (5–11 AM)
Wake, cleanse, nourish. This is your time for movement, meditation, and fueling your body.

🔥 Midday (11 AM–3 PM)
Peak energy + digestion. Ideal for your biggest meal, decision-making, and productivity.

💧 Afternoon (3–7 PM)
Hydrate, focus, and begin to wind down. Great for work, study, and light exercise.

🌙 Evening (7–11 PM)
Slow down. Connect, reflect, and prepare your body for rest.

🌑 Night (11 PM–5 AM)
Deep restoration. This is when your body repairs, detoxifies, and resets for the next day.
