World Cancer Day was yesterday Sunday Feb. 4th!

Please continue to keep every cancer patient in your prayers, the cancer journey will show exactly how strong you really are. In honor of our very own Cancer Champion, Billy is doing well. He has his maintenance infusions every 28 days. While he does have side effects from them, they are nothing compared to chemo. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this dreadful disease! 💚💚💚

The other day I collected all Billy’s chemo medicines and supplements and supplies and put them away. I didn’t want him to have the constant reminder of “cancer” right in his face. Unfortunately we didn’t get the news at oncology yesterday that we were hoping for. I ask that you continue to keep Billy lifted in prayer! God is so good, and Billy’s faith is strong! Have a beautiful and blessed day on purpose! 💚💚💚

Today we head towards our next adventure. Billy has to complete 10 rounds of radiation to his ribs. The cancer literally destroyed his left 7th rib and his right 9th rib. They are hoping that the radiation will alleviate some of the pain associated with the destruction and kill off any remaining cancer cells that may be present there. We are hoping and praying that side effects will be minimal! God has brought us through this far, I know he continues to walk with us! Let’s go! 💪💚🙏

Y’all can’t tell me God isn’t real! Y’all can’t tell me Gods not in the healing business! Y’all can’t convince me not to give him praise! Below is the face of a WARRIOR with God on his side! It’s the face of a man who has been brought to his knees, encountered countless hours of pure sickness that he wouldn’t wish it on anybody, someone who NEVER gave up, a man who continued to care for and be there for his family, a man who kept his faith and continued to worship God, a man built with determination to live. Not only for himself, but for his kids. God is Good! And I am so happy to announce that Billy is all CLEAR! He kicked cancers butt! Stage 4 Lymphoma didn’t stand a chance 💪💪💪💪

It’s truly the small things that make you smile when you have been down the road we have traveled. Billy’s facial hair is growing back, he was so happy to see these little stubbles. And I’m so happy for him. 💚💚💚

Since the completion of Billy’s chemo he has struggled with the side effects. We were hoping to move forward with bone therapy but have had a few set backs. Billy remains optimistic and is fighting hard daily. Please continue to pray for him and strength for his fight! 💚💚

Billy has been very vocal during this whole roller coaster ride that his two daughters Jasmyn and Tiana have kept him going! On days he didn’t feel like getting up or moving, they motivated him to keep pushing. Tomorrow, Billy will complete his final chemotherapy! This experience has truly changed us all, and we appreciate and feel so very honored to be walking this path along side him. 💚

Billy’s weekly meds have been refilled. I don’t think people really understand how much cleaning and sanitizing goes into the everyday life of a cancer chemo patient. When I refill his medicine tray it has to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. That goes for toilets, showers, door handles, faucets, anything and everything he comes into contact with. The bed sheets and blankets have to be washed almost everyday because he sweats so badly. The amount of cleaning supplies I have gone through these past few months is ridiculous! But it’s all to keep him safe and healthy. We are almost to the finish line 🏁

Today has been a tough one for this guy! His home health nurse came and visited him today - he woke up right before she came and went back to sleep right after she left. He’s been asleep all day. I did manage to get him to drink a nutritional drink and eat a sandwich. To date he has lost about 31 pounds, but I’m confident he will put a little weight back on after chemo is over. The prednisone has him feeling yucky as usual. His hands, feet and face are swollen from the steroids but it will level out. Some days are harder than others mentally and physically but he is so strong! We are almost to the finish line!

This pretty little girl right here accompanied her Daddy to his infusions on Thursday. (Not intentionally, she had to use the restroom - so he took her inside with him). After coming out with him she was beaming from ear to ear! She announced then she wanted to be a nurse when she gets big! I was ecstatic that she wasn’t scared and was more concerned about her Daddy and his boo boo!

This morning I was changing Tiana in the bedroom and Billy got very sick, very quickly! Before I could even finish changing Tiana - Jasmyn had pulled her chair up to his supply shelf and grabbed his “blue bag” and ran it over to him. She then proceeded to pat Daddy on the back and tell him, “it’s ok Daddy, just breathe - it’s ok Daddy you’re just a little sick”. I couldn’t even speak - I just stood there with tears in my eyes that my little girl lives a life like this. Where she’s more worried about her Daddy than she is herself. The rest of the day Jasmyn was by Billy’s side making sure he was ok and being the BEST NURSE in training in the world! I’m convinced God has great plans for these two girls of ours! The love and compassion they show on a daily is overwhelming. I’m so thankful for them and their sweet life!

The harsh reality is “This is Cancer”. Whether we like it or not. I do think this experience will teach my kids to remain humble, and compassionate towards everyone. Because we never know what others are going through. 💚💚
