Dr Needham was presented this award at the Annual East West Eye Conference in Columbus, OH this past week. She is one of our optometrist at Premier Vision Group. Thank you for your dedication.

Congratulations to our 2023 OD of the Year, Dr. Tracey Needham! Dr. Needham has served in various leadership roles within the OOA, namely as Zone 11 Governor in 2010, and as an influential member of the Children’s Committee since 2013. She was honored as the OOA Young OD of the Year in 2012.

Dr. Needham’s leadership and passion is most evident in her efforts to provide access to care for children in need. Dr. Needham has been involved with the Ohio Optometric Foundation Board of Directors for 14 years, and she served as the OOF President from 2013 to 2017. She has been program director of iSee, the In-School Eye Exam program since 2010 and has helped organize charitable events that have provided free eye care and glasses to over 2,000 children.

When the OOF partnered with other organizations to create a mobile eye exam program in Appalachian Ohio, Dr. Needham became co-medical director of iSee with Vision To Learn. She continues to work actively in the Ohio Optometric Foundation as it embarks on a major expansion which will allow the iSee programs to provide care to tens of thousands of children in the coming years.

For her career long dedication to the association, the Foundation, Ohio optometry, and the visual health of Ohio’s under-served children, the OOA is proud to bestow this prestigious honor.
