The Healing Shack- Lime Springs The Healing Shack is a place for gathering in community with like minds for connection. The Healing Shack is the fruition of a dream of mine.

I dreamed of having a place where people could gather and share, and feel safe and un-judged. That is exactly what the Healing Shack embodies. The name happened while I was trying to think of something clever. From the Jasper stones thrown on the Earth below the floor to the vaulted roof, and through the guardian pines, the Healing Shack is a space for love and kindness and open expression of self for all well-intentioned visitors. What would you like to see happening at the Shack? Let me know your ideas... If it follows the true intention and purpose of the dream, we will find a way to make it happen. Located in the woods near the North Branch of the Turkey river in rural Lime Springs, Iowa. I look forward to seeing you at the next Healing Shack event. ♥

I can’t believe this was already 4 years ago! I remember walking back in the house that night (I logged into most classes in the Shack). It was a dark, quiet, wintry night. I felt like I had just completed this massive achievement and while I was proud of myself and excited for all that was ahead, I felt super alone in my celebration. I was deflating with each step because I had shut my computer and my teachers and classmates went quiet. My family was happy for me, my students were happy for me, I was happy for me, but there was no happy dance/high 5 party with the people who were in it WITH me. It was kind of a lonely and anticlimactic moment.
I SO value doing things in person as often as possible. I’ll always have online options, too, because I’m located in the middle of nowhere, but sometimes we need to happy dance in person. 🥰
