Meet Emily:
Hi! My name is Emily but you can call me Em. I packed my bags from a loveless career in marketing and started my journey as a massage therapist in late 2019. Cue a global pandemic six months later and I’d wondered how I was going to make a touch-dependent career work when the world went touch-less. After a little delay and a lot of extra time studying anatomy and physiology, I became a licensed massage therapist in early 2021 and began to understand that therapeutic touch was more important now than ever.
Since becoming licensed, I’ve had the privilege of learning and working alongside Doctors of Chiropractic with specializations in sports medicine and pregnancy. Calling on my years of experience in an evidence-based practice, I take a corrective and intuitive approach to bodywork blending deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, structural integration, and Swedish modalities. I’m happiest when helping my clients reach their goals; whether that looks like training for your next marathon, correcting rounded shoulders from your desktop 9-5, bending down to play with your kids, enjoying pregnancy without additional pain, or destressing because that one lady at work is reallly testing your patience.
I opened a massage practice along the Mainline last year and through working with my clients have realized just how strong the mind-body connection is and that everything is truly connected. I’m currently completing an online certificate program in Integrative Somatic Trauma led by Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Scott Lyons, and Dr. Gabor Mate and am enrolled as a student of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Warminster, PA. I hope to continue understanding the role of somatics and in treating clients holistically as I continue through my professional journey. I’m so grateful to know Abbey and to join the community she’s created here. Catch me on the trails hiking with my puppy Remy, snuggled up with my cats reading on the weekends, or rock-climbing in my free time and PLEASE show me all your pet pics. Can’t wait to meet you!
