Eudialite (also eudialyte) is the beautiful hot-pink crystal in this volcanic rock, although sometimes it can be found in the colors blue or yellow. Iron is responsible for giving it is color. It is often found in rocks alongside felspars, aegerine, and biotite. It was first discovered in Greenland but can also be found in Mont Saint-Hilaire in Canada, the Kola Peninsula of Russia, Pocos de Caldas in Brazil, Mafagascar, and in Arkansas.

It is a rare crystal, although it has a few uses for science. It is an ore of zirconium, also, because it has traces of rare earth elements, such as uranium, cerium, and lead, it can be used to date the surrounding rocks through radioactive decay. Yes, it is slightly radioactive, but it's so minimal it poses no threat to us--just to be safe, I wouldn't store food in it! The polished specimens are absolutely safe to wear.

Eudialite is a crystal for the Heart Chakra and the earth and water elements. Use it to balance your inner emotions with external experiences. Sometimes it is called, "The Stone of the Heartland," due to its energy of unconditional love and the ability to channel and ground the body into this energy through thoughts, deeds, and manifestations. It can open the doorway to synchronycities.

Use eudialyte to face depression and fear and release guilt and worry caused by anger, fear, sorrow, or guilt. It is an important stone to use for turning points in your life. It is a beneficial stone for those who feel lost and unsure of their path in life. It also aids in identifying our gifts, both mundane and spiritual.

August 22 is the Feast Day of Saint Guinefort, the only animal saint.

According to legend, in 13th Century France, a loyal greyhound named Guinefort killed a snake that had crawled into the cradle to save his master's infant son.
The knight, seeing blood and misinterpreting the scene, mistakenly thought Guinefort had harmed his child and killed the dog.
Upon discovering the infant was safe and the snake dead, the knight built a shrine in Guinefort's honor, and the practice of venerating the dog spread among the locals.
The cult of St. Guinefort was condemned by the Church as heretical, though it persisted in folk tradition.
Locals would visit the site, with mothers often bringing sick children for healing, leading to the greyhound's veneration as a patron saint for children.
The popular devotion to the "holy canine" continued for centuries, with healing rites involving trees near the shrine.
Even today, thousands of people, Catholic and non-Catholic, honor Guinefort. You can find many sites and organizations dedicated to him.
To honor him, offer your own dogs a special treat, or donate to an animal charity. Arthur says, if you don't have a dog, offering your cat a special treat will be just fine!

Shungite is a carbon-rich mineraloid that formed around 2 billion years ago. It's named after the Russian village of Shunga, where it was first discovered. It's called a mineraloid, not a true mineral, because it lacks the crystalline structure of minerals. It can be found in the United States, Austria, India, and the Congo, along with Russia.

Shungite can activate all 7 main chakras and be used as an aura cleanser. It will detoxify the body and mind and will aid in dispelling negative thoughts and emotions. Wearing shungite is like wearing a protective shield against all forms of physical, emotional, and spiritual negativity.

Shungite is perhaps most known for its ability to inhibit electromagnetic radiation. Place the shungite stone near your electronic equipment to reduce the effects of EMFs (electromagnetic fields), a low level radiation emitted by electronic equipment and cell towers that may cause health hazards like cell damage and oxidative stress. Elite or noble shungite is a very high-quality shungite that is 95-98% carbon. It has a shiny sheen to it, is much harder to find, and the price reflects this. However, it's qualities are enhanced, and it is most often used for healing.

The crystal of the week isn't a type but a shape! We're talking skulls!

Skulls are one of the most popular crystal shapes. Many collectors just like the aesthetic, and we agree, they are very cool! However, did you know, there are many spiritual uses for skulls as well?

Skulls, in general, represent the human form and mortality. However, crystal skulls, particularly when associated with ancient wisdom, can symbolize the transcendence of physical limitations and the continuity between the material and spiritual realms. They are also linked to the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom; you will often see skulls hiding in Rennasaince paintings as symbols of wisdom, teaching, and enlightenment.
