Girls, I Did The Thing: My Upper Bleph + CO2 Laser Journey ✨👁️👁️
Dr. J here. You know I’m never one to gatekeep.
After seeing so many beautiful upper bleph results, I finally decided it was my turn. I went down to Louisiana to see Dr. Duplechain (the only one I trust with my face) and had my own upper blepharoplasty with CO2 laser resurfacing.
And let me tell you… recovery was an exercise in patience and trusting the process.
The upper bleph itself was honestly very manageable with little to no eye pain. The CO2 laser resurfacing, though, is the part that requires real downtime. Your skin is actively healing, it needs to be babied, and that first week is all about ointments, gentle care, cold compresses, and absolutely staying out of the sun.
For those unfamiliar with CO2 laser resurfacing, it works by removing damaged outer layers of skin while delivering controlled heat deeper into the skin to stimulate new collagen production. It can help improve fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, skin texture, enlarged pores, pigmentation irregularities, and overall skin quality. While the healing process is definitely more involved than many non-invasive treatments, the tradeoff is that CO2 laser can deliver some truly remarkable skin rejuvenation and long-term collagen remodeling.
I fully rocked my healing era in public and at work, so if you saw me one week postop, sorry for the jump scare- I was very much in my active-healing phase. 🫣
Now that I’m on the other side, I am so thrilled with the results. My skin feels smoother, brighter, and healthier, and I know the collagen-building benefits will continue for months.
CO2 laser is considered the gold standard in facial resurfacing, and it’s something I’ve wanted to bring into my own office for a long time. We’re currently learning more, testing it out, and finding the right timing to offer it safely and thoughtfully for all of you.
