Please join District 1 as they revive their monthly meetings and tours of local therapy practices and centers. District 1 is visiting TWO local businesses this month: Hamilton Elements AND Paradigm, both located at 6911 Van Dorn Street, Suites 1 and 2. Make plans to join us August 14th, 3:30-5:30pm! This event is free, and open to all current NCA members.

These events are a great opportunity to get to know your peers and to make connections, as well as for students to get a peek into the field and look for potential internship sites. Please bring business cards.

Please enter through the green door on the front of the building for Hamilton Elements, and Paradigm is located on the backside of building.

The August Tour will be of two locations: Hamilton Elements, located at 6911 Van Dorn, Suite #2, Lincoln, NE 68506 AND Paradigm C.A.R.E.S., also located at 6911 Van Dorn, Suite 1. And bonus, you can see the NCA office too! Make plans to join us August 14th, 3:30-5:30pm! This event is free, and open to all current NCA members. Please bring business cards. This event is great for professionals and students to learn more about services in the community, and to make connections. Overflow parking is available across the street.

It is tradition that at our conferences we choose a benefactor to "pass the plate" and raise money for. For our fall conference, we have chosen to support the Nebraska Diaper Bank.

Help us meet our goal of donating 5000 diapers, donate today! And if you choose to purchase an Amazon need or donate financially, be sure to list you are part of the Nebraska Counseling Association so we can count your donation.

Nebraska Diaper Facts:

-1 in 3 Nebraska Families struggle to afford diapers for their children
-5000 diapers will support 14 Nebraska babies for one month.
-In 2023: The Nebraska Diaper Bank distributed 2,825,428 diapers to 10,784 children through direct distribution and diaper bank partners agencies
-WIC and SNAP do not cover diapers. This often leaves parents/caregivers to make the difficult decision between buying diapers or buying diapers.
-Diaper need impacts baby and toddler health due to wearing soiled diapers for a longer period of time to make diaper use stretch.
-Parents facing diaper need miss an average of 4 days of work and/or school per month because children cannot attend childcare without diapers.
-Babies require up to 12 diapers a day or or about 360 diapers per month.
-Toddlers require up to 8 diapers a day or 240 diapers per month.
-For just $150 your business or organization can diaper ONE baby for a YEAR through the Nebraska Diaper Bank! (the diaper bank is able to obtain diapers at cost through your financial donations)
-13,000 babies and toddlers live in poor or low-income families in just Douglas and Sarpy Counties
-9 million diapers a year is the number needed to diaper children in the greater Omaha area alone, 28 million to cover all of the need in Nebraska.
