Meet Hugo Zamorano. A true multidisciplinary artist whose creativity knows no bounds. Born in Los Angeles and now proudly rooted in South Omaha, Hugo’s journey began with graffiti and hip hop—art forms that continue to shape his bold visual storytelling today.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a BFA in Studio Art, Hugo helped found the art biennial ArteLatinX and has since expanded his creative reach into theatre and set design.

Beyond the canvas, Hugo gives back to his community—coaching boxing, serving on the boards of Great Plains Theatre Commons and the Hip Hop Lab, and teaching through multiple nonprofit organizations. He is also an artist with the Nebraska Arts Council in Omaha, where he continues to inspire through his work and mentorship.

Moral injury occurs when someone experiences a violation of their deeply held moral beliefs—often in high-stakes environments like the military, healthcare, or first response. Unlike PTSD, which is typically tied to fear-based trauma, moral injury stems from guilt, shame, or ethical conflict.

Military Sexual Trauma, or MST, refers to a service member’s experience with sexual assault or sexual harassment occurring at any point during his or her military service. An estimated 1 in 3 female veterans and 1 in 50 male veterans in the VA healthcare system report experiencing MST. It is important to note that by percentage women are at greater risk, but nearly 40% of veterans who disclose MST to VA are men.
