Ok so I love me some positive affirmations, and yes research shows they can truly change the brain. So YES, SAY ‘EM!!!
BUT this here is an example of toxic positivity. So yeah dwelling and/or ruminating is not helpful. But… we’re HUMAN. And it’s GOOD to share the real stuff too. I’m a therapist. And FYI. I’m tired today! And I’ll be tired and at the same time grab onto the joy. TIRED ANXIOUS DEPRESSED SCARED HAPPY ANGRY RESTLESS LONELY EXCITED: ITS ALL OK! SAY IT! It’s healthy! Ok rant over. 😬👊🏼
