Today, we pause to remember the service members who gave their lives in defense of our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to something greater than themselves will never be forgotten.

We also hold close the families who live with that loss every day — the parents, spouses, children, siblings, and loved ones who carry their memory forward with strength and grace. Your sacrifice is part of this day, too.

At Northside Behavioral Health Group, we are committed to serving our veterans, military families, and Gold Star families with compassion, respect, and unwavering support.

May we honor the fallen not only in words, but in how we care for those they loved.

Introducing Cassandra, our newest therapist and resident expert in “therapist face,” grounding techniques, and pretending her coffee is still warm.
She brings heart, humor, and a whole lot of skill to our clients and community. We’re lucky to have her. She is taking clients at our Nebraska City Office and via telehealth.

For many people, anxiety shows up as a constant hum in the background — a racing mind, a tight chest, trouble sleeping, or feeling on edge for reasons that are hard to name.

Anxiety can make everyday tasks feel overwhelming. It can pull you out of the present moment and into worry, what‑ifs, and worst‑case scenarios.
And none of that means you’re “dramatic” or “overreacting.” It means your nervous system is working overtime.

Therapy can help you understand what’s happening in your body, build tools to calm your system, and reconnect with a sense of control and safety.
You don’t have to navigate it alone. Northside is here to support you.

Today we celebrate all the moms — in every form, every chapter, every journey.

To the new moms finding their rhythm.
To the seasoned moms holding families together.
To the moms parenting through exhaustion, joy, grief, or growth.
To the moms who are waiting, hoping, or healing.
To the bonus moms, chosen moms, step‑moms, foster moms, and mother‑figures who show up with love.

Motherhood isn’t one story — it’s many.
And every version deserves compassion, support, and space to breathe. 💛

From all of us at Northside Behavioral Health Group, we see you.
We honor you.
We’re here for you.

Depression isn’t a weakness, a bad attitude, or something you can “snap out of.”
It’s a medical condition that affects mood, energy, sleep, motivation, and how the brain processes stress.

Common signs include:
• persistent sadness or emptiness
• loss of interest in things you used to enjoy
• fatigue that doesn’t match your day
• changes in sleep or appetite
• feeling hopeless, numb, or disconnected

Depression can happen to anyone — and it’s treatable.
Therapy, support, skills, and sometimes medication can make a real difference.

If you’re struggling, you’re not alone.
Reaching out is a sign of strength, not failure. 💙

We love John Green. John Green lives with OCD.
And he’s been incredibly open about what it’s like to navigate intrusive thoughts and compulsions every single day.

Here’s one of his examples that helps people understand the reality of OCD — not the stereotypes, not the jokes, but the actual mental load so many live with.

OCD is real. It’s exhausting. It’s treatable. And no one deserves to face it alone.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

OCD is more than being “neat,” “organized,” or “a little particular.”
It’s a real mental health condition that can involve intrusive thoughts, intense anxiety, and rituals that feel impossible to ignore.

And yet — people with OCD show incredible strength every day.
They navigate a world full of misunderstandings, jokes at their expense, and stigma that minimizes their experience.

Today, we celebrate the resilience, creativity, and courage of those living with OCD.
And we honor the truth:
OCD is not a personality quirk. It’s a condition deserving of compassion, support, and evidence‑based care. 💚

You’re not alone. Your experience is valid. Your story matters.
