Balancing your health with the holidays can be a real challenge. Here are some tips to take extra care of yourself this holiday season:

• Stay Active: Take short walks between gatherings to keep your joints flexible.
• Lift Smart: When decorating or carrying gifts, bend your knees and protect your back.
• Eat Mindfully: Excess sugar can negatively affect bone and joint health.
• Rest Well: Your body heals and recovers best with quality sleep.
• Stretch Often: Light stretching can relieve stiffness after travel or long dinners.

If pain continues, we are here to help. Give us a call at 402-436-2000 to schedule an appointment.

Beware of Fraudulent Calls

It's that time of year when scammers are in full force. Recently, we've been made aware of scam calls pretending to be from our office. If you receive a suspicious call asking for personal information, payment, or anything that feels “off,” hang up immediately — do not share any information. You can always call us directly at (402) 436-2000 to verify whether our office needs to speak with you.

To report a fraudulent call:
1. Note the phone number and any details from the call.
2. Report it to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov.*
3. You can also let our office know so we’re aware of ongoing scams.

Your privacy and safety are our top priority — thank you for helping keep our community protected!

*please note the FTC website is down due to the government shutdown, but you may report details once it is back up and running.

This week, Dr. Lawson, Dean, and Levi led a hands-on casting demonstration for MAT students at Nebraska Wesleyan University. The students practiced applying casts and learned proper orthopaedic techniques directly from our team.

We’re proud to support the next generation of healthcare professionals and share our expertise with the local community.

Seward High School volleyball player Grace suffered a concussion during practice last season but with the guidance of Bryan Health/ NOC athletic trainer Grant Ridder, she safely returned to play in just 10 days.

Grant’s structured, step-by-step protocol helped ensure Grace was symptom-free before progressing, keeping her health the top priority.

Last season, Grace, a libero on the Seward High School volleyball team, suffered a concussion after being hit in the temple by a ball during practice. She experienced light sensitivity, headaches, dizziness and low energy.

With support from her athletic trainer, Grant Ridder, Grace safely followed a structured return-to-play protocol with these 4 steps:
🚴 Stationary bike
🏃‍♀️ Running
🏐 Volleyball drills
💪 Full practice

Each step required zero symptoms before moving forward. In just 10 days, Grace was back on the court – stronger than ever. Her advice to fellow athletes: “Follow the protocol. You do not want to risk missing more of your season due to an injury.”

Athletic trainer, Grant Ridder, shares more about concussions in his newest podcast, listen now: https://bit.ly/49nIG2e
