Last season, Grace, a libero on the Seward High School volleyball team, suffered a concussion after being hit in the temple by a ball during practice. She experienced light sensitivity, headaches, dizziness and low energy.
With support from her athletic trainer, Grant Ridder, Grace safely followed a structured return-to-play protocol with these 4 steps:
🚴 Stationary bike
🏃♀️ Running
🏐 Volleyball drills
💪 Full practice
Each step required zero symptoms before moving forward. In just 10 days, Grace was back on the court – stronger than ever. Her advice to fellow athletes: “Follow the protocol. You do not want to risk missing more of your season due to an injury.”
