Workshop Alert 🧄🔪🌶 There are 5 seats left for the upcoming Kitchen Herbalism class coming up on Monday and Tuesday evening, November 10-11th, 6-7:30pm each night. This is an annual class that is a cornerstone of my herbal practice. We have potent and powerful remedies available on our spice racks and produce bins! Join a discussion where we'll explore the medicinal benefits of common herbs, spices and produce as we examine traditional remedies and create a batch of Fire Cider together. You will leave with a jar to take home. Discover a variety of accessible and practical home remedies for keeping you and your loved ones healthy through cold and flu season.

Registration is online at Southeast.edu - use the keyword HERB to seach under the Community "course search" tab.

This is often a topic that I approach from a perspective of accessibility and it's not lost on me the devastating impact of the current manufactured crisis of food insecurity in denying SNAP benefits to millions of people. My household also relies on SNAP assistance to make ends meet and it's these intentional selections from the grocery store that also support our health and wellbeing year round. I'd love to have you join the conversation at SCC this coming week to dive into practical advice and recipes that you can share with your neighbors and community at large. We keep us nourished!

If you would like to attend, but are short on cash, send me a DM or message via my website. I can offer a few full or partial scholarships. Let's talk!

If you're able to donate to support local mutual-aid in keeping our community fed, please consider supporting the work of the Everett Free Grocery Program 💛🍉

Feeling so very grateful for community these days. So many of us are navigating big loss, uncomfortable change and future unknowns. What I know is that calling in help and completing big leaps for a vision coming to fruition feel affirming (next phase of Arise Botanicals!) Thank you to everyone who helped with the big dig as well as the ongoing Tulsi harvest + processing.

Also pictured: Last Sunday's plant ramble was nourishing. Collaboration made it possible. Relationship with land made it sacred 🌾 I've also started up with Nature Club at Prescott Elementary again. These young ones teach me so much with their curiosity, observations and reflections.

This Sunday I'm looking forward to bringing the pop-up apothecary to for the Harvest Moon Pop-up, 12-3pm (4726 Cooper Ave, Lincoln). Pepe's Bistro and Daughter Nature will be bringing their delicious and delightful plant magic as well! See previous post for details.

Monday is both the Champion Tree Bike tour, led by Kat and Brad (see flyer on last slide). Free community bike ride to appreciate gorgeous trees right here in Lincoln (meet at Woods Park parking lot, 5pm)

Also on October 6th, I'll be teaching my Elderberry Syrup workshop at SCC Continuing Education 6:30-8pm. A perrenial favorite! There are 2 seats still available. Details on my website or register at Southeast.edu (course search under community with keyword HERB)

I've been practicing herbalism for 18 years and in business as an herbalist for 10. I'm forever learning, slow growing and planting seeds for the future, even and ESPECIALLY in uncertain times. So glad we're connected. Let's keep going 🌻

Beloveds, here’s an invitation to stop and smell the flowers. Breath in...out...repeat. The growing season is waning, but the flowers are still giving. Join me this Saturday, September 20th for an immersive workshop on the magic and medicine of flower essences from 6:30-8pm at Bodhi Imports (1645 S 17th St in Lincoln). Space is limited and there are six spots left at the time of this post. This event was so well received last June that we wanted to offer it again on the other end of the summer season. All participants will leave with detailed handouts and a customized flower essence blend along with the knowledge of how to craft these plant remedies at home.

Flower essences are profound in the ways that they shift the emotional experiences we are folded into. A supportive hand-hold from the plant world. Flower essences are, but one expression of the potent energetic connections we tender humans are woven into with the living world around us. When the eclipse portal is cloudy, when the stank of fascism is strong, plant medicines support us in staying present and moving through complex feelings to align with our most authentic expressions of love and connection.

Reserve your spot by contacting .imports on instagram, facebook, or visit in-store.  Did you know that Arise Botanicals products are available here along with so many other lovingly crafted items?

Some flower photos from this season and past summers to brighten your feed. Photo one is Baby Dragon sniffing some fornicating pollinators on White Snakeroot flower, alongside Goldenrod and Purple Aster.
