Have you ever started a new routine feeling motivated and hopeful—only to drop it a few weeks later?

A morning routine.
Going to bed earlier.
Working out consistently.
Gratitude journaling.
A nutrition reset.

At first, it feels exciting… and then life happens.

If that sounds familiar, hear this:
You’re not failing at routines.
Most of us are simply starting in the wrong place.

We’re taught to start with what we should do—
instead of starting with how we actually want to feel.
And that one shift changes everything.

✨ Instead of asking, “What should I do?”
Ask, “How do I want to feel?”

Grounded.
Calm.
Energized.
Clear-headed.
Supported.
Present.
Confident.

Then build your routine around that feeling.

Start with a baseline action — your non-negotiable minimum.
Something you can do even on busy, low-energy, real-life days:

• One deep breath
• A 5-minute walk
• Stretching for 2 minutes
• Writing one sentence
• Drinking a glass of water

When you do the baseline, it still counts.

Then, if it feels right, create an ideal action — the full expression.
A longer workout.
A full journaling session.
An intentional meal.

The key?
Your ideal is an option — not an expectation.

Some days you’ll meet the ideal.
Some days you’ll meet the baseline.
Both count.

This is how you remove all-or-nothing thinking.
This is how you stop “starting over.”
This is how routines begin to support your real life instead of fighting it.

You don’t need a perfect routine.
You need one that can flex with you.

Start there. 🤍

The most impactful changes, routines, and decisions we make are rooted in self-compassion, not judgment, regret, or dislike.

Real transformation doesn’t come from criticizing ourselves.
It comes from caring for who we are.
Sometimes showing compassion to ourselves feels hard. Especially if we’ve spent years being our own toughest critic. If that feels true for you, try this…
Find a picture of yourself as a child.
Look at her.
Would you speak to her the way you speak to yourself now?
Would you only love them if they were doing everything perfectly?

Put your hand over your heart, look again at that picture and say “I’ve got you and I’m on your side.”

Infidelity is one of the deepest betrayals a person can experience. It shakes your trust, stirs emotional chaos, and can leave you questioning your worth, your instincts, and your future.

When I walked through this season, one practice helped me more than anything else: journaling.

Putting pen to paper gave my swirling thoughts somewhere to land. It helped me process emotions without judgment, reconnect with myself, and remember that what I think and feel truly matters.

As a holistic nurse and wellness coach, I believe healing after betrayal must nurture the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. Journaling creates a bridge between all three. It becomes a safe place to release, reflect, rebuild self-trust, and slowly reclaim your strength.

If you’re navigating heartbreak, here are a few prompts to gently guide you:
✨ What emotions come up for me when I think about the betrayal?
✨ What are three qualities I value in myself that no one can take away?
✨ What boundaries do I now recognize as essential moving forward?
✨ What would it look like to trust myself fully again?
✨ How do I want to feel six months from now?

Healing isn’t linear. Some days will feel strong and hopeful. Others may bring waves of grief and anger. Both are part of the process.

And please remember this:
The betrayal does not define your worth. You are still whole. Still valuable. Still capable of building a future filled with trust, love, and peace. 🤍

What happens when we shift our wellness practices to be rooted from a place of love for ourselves vs a place of shame, shoulds or guilt is magical!!! We cannot show up for ourselves in a meaningful and consistent way when we feel guilty or when we are constantly comparing ourselves to others.

Are you ready to make the switch?

When you hear the words self-love, what comes to mind?

For so long, we’ve been taught that self-love looks like bubble baths, quotes, or time alone—and while those can be beautiful, the truth is this: self-love goes so much deeper.

Self-love is the foundation of how we care for our body, speak to ourselves, protect our energy, and create a life that feels aligned. When growth comes from love instead of shame, everything changes. I’ve seen it in my own life, and I see it every day in my work as a coach.

A holistic self-love practice can look like:
✨ Paying attention to what energizes you
✨ Setting boundaries that protect your peace
✨ Reframing the way you speak to yourself
✨ Creating joy on purpose, every single day
✨ Nourishing your body based on how you want to feel—not how you think you should look

Self-love isn’t something you buy, earn, or unlock after a milestone. It’s a practice. And when you lead your wellness journey from that place, things begin to flow with more ease, clarity, and compassion.

Does this resonate with you? 💛
If you’re curious about what self-love could look like in your own life, I’d love to support you. Send me a message or book a time to chat. And tell me—what topics have been resonating most with you lately?
