Stress shows up in our bodies whether we like it or not.
Stomachaches. Headaches. Irritability. Racing heart. Sleepless nights.
And none of it is fun.

While medication or a doctor’s visit is sometimes exactly what we need (and that’s okay), there are also gentle, everyday ways to support your body, mind, and nervous system when stress creeps in.

Here are 10 healthy ways to deal with stress—without making it worse:
✨ Eat nutrient-dense foods (healthy fats, magnesium, B vitamins)
✨ Drink more water (stress + dehydration is not a good combo)
✨ Move your body—walk, stretch, exercise, or yoga
✨ Spend time outside, even if it’s just 10 minutes
✨ Take care of your basic needs (sleep, breaks, asking for help)
✨ Get a massage—even 10 minutes helps
✨ Breathe deeply (try 4–5 slow breaths)
✨ Use hot or cold water to regulate your nervous system
✨ Journal to give your thoughts a place to go
✨ Use essential oils (lavender + lemon is one of my favorites ☀️)

Stress is unavoidable—but suffering longer than necessary doesn’t have to be.
Small, intentional choices add up and truly matter.

Hello January + a new year....
How are you feeling about the start to 2026?
What if we did things a little different and allowed January to meet us where we are, instead of feeling like we need to have everything that we want to accomplish this coming year figured out?

What if January was our friend- would we think about her differently?

1. One of my classes at Yoga at Yoga Together Lincoln
*Monday- January 5th from 7-8pm Gentle flow + Yin
*Monday- January 19th from 7-8pm Restorative + Sound bath

2. Holistic Goal Setting Workshop for 2026 on zoom
Wednesday, January 7th from 7-8:30pm. In this workshop we will be gently looking at the lessons from 2025, and setting 2026 up for structure that feels supportive instead of harsh.

3. The Love Your REAL Life Membership- try it out for the month of January for $29 and see if it is a good fit for your life. Enjoy live sessions on zoom like- Move + Meditate on Monday mornings, Yoga Flow Fridays, an intentional monthly planning session and end of the month workshop. As well as small daily challenges that help support the a life that you love. This month's theme is Gentle Intentions for your REAL Life.

Mental clutter can be just as disruptive as physical clutter—sometimes even more. When my mind feels full and scattered, one of the most grounding things I can do is set intentional goals.

Goal-setting hasn’t always looked the same for me. It’s an evolving process, just like life. But having a simple system helps me move into a new month with clarity, focus, and peace instead of overwhelm.

For January, I start by looking at the big picture—projects I want to finish, spaces I want to simplify, books I want to read, and meaningful moments I want to protect. Then each week, I break those goals down into detailed, doable steps across areas like personal growth, wellness, relationships, finances, home, and learning.

Here’s why I love monthly goal setting:
🤍 It reduces mental clutter
🤍 It brings focus to what actually matters
🤍 It boosts productivity without pressure
🤍 It creates more peace in everyday life

A few things that help my goals actually stick:
• Understanding my personality and building systems that work for me
• Using accountability (game-changer!)
• Scheduling reminders and alarms
• Posting my goals where I can see them daily—hello, vision boards ✨

New month. Fresh focus. Gentle intentions.

As we move deeper into December and step fully into the holiday season, there’s something I want you to hear—especially if this doesn’t feel like “the most wonderful time of the year.”

You’re not doing anything wrong.

The holidays can feel incredibly complicated when your heart is hurting…
when you’re surviving more than celebrating…
when everyone around you is talking about joy and magic, and you’re just trying to make it through the day.

I’ve lived through many Decembers like that myself.
So if this is you right now, I see you.

This season doesn’t need forced cheer or pretending everything is fine.
It deserves gentleness. Honesty. Compassion.

✨ Let the holidays be different this year.
✨ Give yourself permission to feel what you feel.
✨ Decide what you can do—not what you “should” do.
✨ Protect your peace with simple boundaries.
✨ Create small routines that bring comfort.
✨ Make room for both grief and joy.
✨ Choose just one meaningful thing.
✨ Remember: you don’t have to be “okay” to be present.

Your presence matters more than your performance.
You don’t need to be upbeat to be loved.
You don’t need to hide your reality to belong.

If the holidays feel heavy this year, please hear this clearly:
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are not failing.

You’re human.
You’re healing.
And you’re doing the best you can with what you’ve been carrying.

Let this season be real.
Let it be softer.
Let it be yours.

And if all you manage to do is breathe, rest, and care for your heart—even just a little—that is enough 🤍

Since I was a little girl, Christmas Eve has always meant one thing… SOUP!

As I grew up and had kids of my own, this tradition continued—and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This year, I wanted to share some of our favorite Christmas Eve soups that bring comfort, memories, and full bellies to the table 🎄
~Instant Pot Chili – easy, cozy, and perfect if you need something quick
~Chicken & Dumpling Soup – a special family recipe passed down from my grandpa and made every Christmas Eve by my aunt
~Chicken Tortilla Soup – simple, flavorful, and a crowd favorite
~Zuppa Toscana – sounds a little strange, tastes AMAZING

This year we’re making chili and chicken & dumplings, and it already feels like Christmas 💫
