👉 We’re open and continuing to provide care and services as we always have.

There has been recent discussion about proposed rule changes from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that could impact behavioral health and substance-use providers across the state.

These changes are still being reviewed. We’ll continue to advocate for access to care and keep our community informed as things move forward.

For more details, please watch the attached news segment.

Interested in learning more or sharing feedback? Public comments are open through January 16. You can review the proposal and submit comments by emailing DHHS.BehavioralHealthDivision@nebraska.gov

Many detox beds in the state of Nebraska already have a waitlist, and new rules proposed by the state’s Department of Health and Human Services could make it worse.

MEET NICOLE. HEART-LED, HUMBLE, AND ALWAYS HELPING OTHERS FEEL LESS ALONE.

There are people whose presence feels like a deep breath — warm, patient, steady, and full of compassion. Nicole is one of those souls. She leads with her heart, listens with intention, and shows up for people in a way that reminds them they matter. Whether she’s supporting a client, checking in on a coworker, or offering a moment of encouragement, Nicole brings a kind of care that can’t be taught — the kind that comes naturally.

A look into who Nicole is:
Go-to morning drink: Homemade coffee with KitKat creamer — non-negotiable. She swears coffee doesn’t taste right without it, and honestly… we believe her.
Favorite part of working on the team: Making new life long friends with her co-workers.
One word to describe her work style: Fun — but deeply understanding
How she unwinds: Cuddling with her dog and spending time with her horse
Artist on repeat: The Amity Affliction
Hidden talent: Drawing in her spare time
Fun fact: A huge Game of Thrones fan
Favorite saying: “As long as I don’t lose me, I can never really lose.”

💙 Why Nicole enjoys working at The Bridge:
For Nicole, working at The Bridge is meaningful in a way that goes far beyond a job description. She loves being part of a place where compassion guides the work, where coworkers care deeply, and where every day offers a chance to meet people exactly where they are. What fulfills her most is knowing she’s making a real difference: "I feel like I am making an impact on my community and letting people know they are not alone in their journeys.” Being able to offer support, understanding, and hope — that’s what keeps her grounded and committed.

Nicole, thank you for the warmth you bring, the patience you share, and the steady compassion you carry into every day. You make a real difference — to our team, to our clients, and to the community you care so much about. We’re grateful for the way you lead with your heart.
