Nebraska Psychological Association

Nebraska Psychological Association The purpose of NPA is to advance psychology as a science and as a means of promoting human welfare by the encouragement of psychology in all its branches.

The purpose of the Nebraska Psychological Association is the same as that of the American Psychological Association and is as follows:

…to advance psychology as a science and as a means of promoting human welfare by the encouragement of psychology in all its branches in the broadest and most liberal manner. It does so by promoting research in psychology and the improvements of the qualification and competence of psychologists through high standards of ethical conduct, education and achievement, and by the dissemination of psychological journals and special reports. We strive:
• to promote the independent practice of clinical and consulting psychology to be at the forefront of mental health care;
• to promote the highest standards of ethical and effective practice;
•to educate ourselves, our colleagues, our government and the public on issues of common concern;and
• to bring the resources of psychology to bear on social problems in our state and our communities.
