ATP Assistive Technology Partnership - ATP is dedicated to helping Nebraskan's with disabilities, their

Nebraska was one of the first nine states to receive a grant under the Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1988 (P.L. 100-407) and is now in its 23rd year of operation. The intended outcomes of the programs created under the Tech Act has been to increase access to, availability of, and funding for assistive technology for individuals with disabilities.

We meet the 3rd Thursday of every month from January 15th - August. We keep those meetings to 1 hour and they are on Zoom.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is all about making communication accessible for everyone. AAC includes a wide range of tools and strategies—from picture boards and gestures to speech-generating devices and communication apps.

✨ A few important facts:
✔️ AAC supports expressing needs, sharing ideas, and building relationships
✔️ AAC can be low-tech or high-tech
✔️ Using AAC does NOT stop speech development—research shows it often supports it
✔️ Everyone uses AAC at times (think texting, emojis, and gestures!)

ATP Education is excited to be part of the ESU 16 AAC Bootcamp with our own Brian Wojcik leading the way! 🙌 The energy in the room has been fantastic—attendees are diving deep, asking great questions, and walking away with practical ideas they can use right away.
