COMMUNITY ALERT | Since late March, six people in Lincoln are believed to have died from drug overdoses, including two today (April 8th). Our thoughts go out to the loved ones impacted by these tragedies.

At this time, our Narcotics and Criminal Investigations Units are working to determine what substances were responsible for the deaths and if there is any connection between them. The investigations are ongoing.

Please be aware of this upward trend in deaths and do NOT take anything not prescribed to you by a medical professional. Overdoses can happen to anyone.

Remember, Narcan (naloxone) can help reverse an opioid overdose. It is FREE in Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department vending machines around the city, at many local pharmacies and online at stopodne.com.

The Region 5 Systems Family & Youth Investment (FYI) program joined 17 other exhibitors at the Many Pathways to Recovery workshop in Nebraska City on March 28.

Participants heard from inspiring speakers, joined thoughtful conversations, and explored recovery topics like peer support, SMART Recovery, wellness, self-advocacy, and more—each one offering a different path toward healing and growth.

We’re also grateful that our Consumer/Family Advisory Committee helped support this event and make it possible. Together, we continue to learn, connect, and support every pathway to recovery.

This is a remote-based position located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Employees work from their residence (telework) and perform most client-related field work in person within the communities served by Region 5 Systems (southeast Nebraska). Some duties, including required meetings and trainings, must be completed at the principal home office.

Competitive Pay & Benefits: $42,121 – $47,616 at hire, commensurate with experience and other desired criteria.

This role helps prevent children from becoming state wards, reduces out-of-home placements, decreases involvement with the justice system, supports improved school performance, and helps young adults successfully transition from youth services into the adult behavioral health system.

Housing Specialist – Rural Permanent Housing Program

This is a Lincoln, Nebraska-based position. Employees in this position office from their residence (telework position), with the majority of program participant field work performed in the community that Region 5 Systems serves.
