The College View Seventh-day Adventist Church Kid Strong Health Fair in April was a beautiful day of connection at the Reiner Wellness Center (Union Adventist University).

Dr. Larinda hosted our smoothie bar, serving up nutrient-dense blends to fuel growing bodies. Wellness starts with how we nourish our systems to build long-term resilience!

Gena used the panda drum to show how its fluid vibrations help kids move from being "up in their heads" back into their bodies. By teaching concepts like neuroception and interception, we help children recognize stress patterns and return to a state of safety and flow.

Children often mirror their caregivers' nervous system patterns. By focusing on "bottom-up" regulation now, we help prevent chronic health issues later in life and create a blueprint for lifelong wholeness.

Thanks to College View Kids Pastor Nicole for organizing this fun event!

At Wholehearted, we view the journey into parenthood not just as a medical event, but as one of the most significant transitions a person — and a family — will ever navigate. We know that the shift in hormones during this time is the most substantial drop a woman will experience in her lifetime, and it deeply affects the nervous system.

We are here to offer a softer place to land if you are struggling with your emotional or mental wellness prenatally or postnatally.

An Informed Circle of Support:

Our approach to mood disorders is informed rather than just diagnostic. We focus on supporting your entire system and helping you recognize and bring in a wider circle of resources. While we provide clinical expertise, we believe in a holistic model that goes beyond traditional medication to look at the whole package of your well-being.

A Collaboration for the Whole Family:

We believe a solid postpartum plan is a collaboration.

- For Moms: We address the real challenges, from sleep deprivation and hormone shifts to body image.

- For Partners: We intentionally bring partners into the conversation. We help them understand how to support mom emotionally and physically, while also providing them a safe space to confide their own insecurities during this massive transition.

We are honored to have Dr. Linda Specht Trainer leading this specialized care. As a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Lactation Counselor with a national certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), Linda brings decades of experience in maternal-child health. She works one-on-one with clients to build a foundation of early attachment and sustainable wellness that honors the uniqueness of your story.

Ready to find your circle of support?

Dr. Linda is currently accepting new clients through our insurance-based practice, Wholehearted Healthcare, P.C. We can file for these visits through most major insurance plans.

Touch is not extra. It is foundational.
Before words…
there is felt sense.

Through nurturing, attuned touch, the body learns:
“I am safe.”
“I am held.”
“I belong.”

Touch regulates the nervous system, increases oxytocin, and builds connection.

But many of us—especially men—were never taught this language.

Research shows that most boys stop receiving nurturing touch at a young age…
so as adults, they may not know how to offer it.

And yet—for most women, this is what we long for.

But how can men provide what was never modeled?
We can teach, invite, and co-create.
Touch is something we learn together.

This deeply impacts sexual health.
Safe, connected intimacy doesn’t start in the bedroom…
it starts in the nervous system... in the day to day.

When the body feels safe → it opens
When it feels held → it softens
When it feels seen → it responds

This is the work: learning to ask- our partner, our children, a trusted friend...
• “Can you hold me?”
• “I need slow, nurturing touch.”
• “Can you put your hand on my back while I share about my day?"
• “This is what feels good in my body or that doesn't feel good in my body, please stop."

This is another beautiful way we wire connection—
right brain to right brain,
body to body.

Touch is physical, emotional, and sacred. And when we tend to it with care… everything shifts

Much love,
Gena

At Wholehearted Healthcare, we believe that true healing doesn’t happen in a rushed 15-minute time slot. It happens in the spaciousness of being truly seen, heard, and understood.

When you walk through the doors of our restored 1938 Art Moderne home, the first thing you’ll notice — besides the audible exhale your nervous system makes — is that we don't just reach for a prescription pad. We reach for partnership.

To us, healthcare isn't a transaction; it's Lifestyle Medicine. We focus on the pillars that actually shape your vitality:

- Nutrition
- Physical Activity
- Restorative Sleep
- Stress Management
- Social Connection
- Avoiding Risky Substances

If you’ve peeked at the books lining our hallway, you know we are obsessed with patient education. We believe that when you understand the "why" behind your body’s signals — whether it’s gut health, hormone shifts, or burnout — you regain your agency.

Your symptoms are sacred messengers, not problems to be silenced. Our role is to be your guide, providing you with the tools and evidence-based science to help you return to your inherent wholeness.

Ready to begin your journey?

We are honored to have Larinda Fandrich, DNP, currently accepting new clients through our insurance-based practice. Larinda specializes in lifestyle medicine and family practice, helping you create a wellness vision that lasts for decades, not just until your next refill.✨

We are so excited to support Pastor Nicole and the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church College View Kids Ministries at the upcoming Kid Strong Health Fair!

As part of our commitment to the College View neighborhood, we’re bringing a touch of "wholehearted" wellness to this fun, family-centered afternoon. Our team will be hosting two special zones designed to nurture both the body and the mind:

Mindfulness with Gena Foster, APRN-NP:

Gena will guide our young "TruthSeekers" through a gentle mindfulness practice. It’s a quiet, unhurried activity where kids can learn to tune into their own bodies and find a sense of calm and presence.

The Smoothie Bar with Dr. Larinda Fandrich:

Larinda, who specializes in Lifestyle Medicine, will be serving up nutrient-dense, whole-food treats. It’s a delicious way to show how "adding in" the good stuff — like vibrant fruits and vegetables — can be the most fun part of staying healthy.

Whether your family is already part of our Circle of Care or you’re simply looking for a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon, we’d love to see you there.

When: Sunday, April 19, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Where: Reiner Wellness Center (3733 S 52nd St.) (on the campus of Union Adventist University)

Admission: Free!

Come enjoy the smoothie bar, practice a little mindfulness, and stay for the bouncy house and fire truck. Let’s help our kids become rooted in faith and strong in health — together.

There’s something sacred about being invited into someone’s circle of care.

On this Friday afternoon, our hearts are full of gratitude—to be trusted, to be welcomed, to walk alongside you in tending not just symptoms, but the whole of who you are.

Mind, body, spirit… all of you belongs here.

It is a true honor to be part of your support system and to care for you in a way that is relational, present, and deeply human.

We’re so grateful to be in your circle.

We often think of health as a series of intense hurdles — restrictive diets, grueling workouts, or complex supplement regimens. But at Wholehearted, we believe in "medicine at the pace of the human heart."

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do for your future self is simply to rest.

In her recent presentation on Cardiometabolic Health, our own Dr. Larinda Fandrich highlighted a vital truth: Restorative sleep is the pillar that holds up all others.

When we are chronically exhausted, our bodies struggle to regulate:

- Blood pressure and glucose levels become harder to manage.

- Inflammation increases, raising the risk of cardiovascular disease.

- Decision-making suffers, making it nearly impossible to choose nourishing foods or find the energy for movement.

Larinda shared that while cardiovascular disease is a leading global concern, it is also highly preventable and often reversible through intentional lifestyle shifts. Her "heart health prescription" isn't about perfection; it’s about sustainability:

- Know Your Numbers: Understanding markers like LDL, CRP, and heart rate variability (HRV) helps us map your unique path.

- Add Before You Subtract: Instead of focusing on what to "quit," try adding more plants, more fiber, and more intentional movement into your day.

- Regulate the Rhythm: Simple habits, like avoiding blue light 60-90 minutes before bed, help your brain signal that it’s safe to drift off.

Healing is not a transaction; it’s a relational journey. Whether you are looking for a new medical home or need support navigating a specific health threshold, we are here to walk beside you.

Hello, Online Community of Wholehearted Healthcare and Wholehearted Wellness.

I’m in the process of creating new course content for my wellness platform, and I would love your input as part of this community.

Which course would you most want to see first?

1. Fierce Grace – The Practice of Self-Compassion
Learning how to be with your thoughts in a loving way through mindfulness and self-compassion. Exploring three-centered knowing—head, heart, and body—and how to show up with gentleness toward yourself in everyday life.

2. Wild Feminine – Reclaiming Your Soft and Wild Heart
A journey into the archetype of the wild feminine. Deep embodiment practices for reconnecting with parts of yourself that may have been set aside while tending to others.

3. Sovereign Self – Living Your Own Self Mythology
A deep dive into perimenopause and menopause as a threshold of truth. Letting the veil of estrogen lift, setting down what no longer belongs, and learning to live and speak from the center of your own bones. Exploring self archetypes from nature, the bible, mythology, and folklore - as guides to help us show up as our True Self.

4. Mystic Christianity in the Modern World
Embodied spiritual practices from Eastern and Western philosophies, interwoven with mindfulness and three-centered knowing. Exploring how the sacred can be experienced in the ordinary rhythms of daily life.
I’d truly love to hear from you.

Which one calls to you most?
1, 2, 3, or 4?

Your voice helps guide what I create next.

COMMENT below.
Thank you.

At Wholehearted Healthcare, we believe your health story doesn’t begin and end with a lab result. It’s a circle—one that our founder, Gena Foster, intentionally designed to feel less like a clinical assembly line and more like a homecoming.

Today, we’re spotlighting the woman who helps us start that circle with such grace: our IV Nurse, Sandy Prindle.

With 18 years of experience, Sandy is the heart of our lab. Whether she’s drawing cortisol at 7:30 AM to catch your body’s natural rhythm or prepping a restorative Myers Cocktail, Sandy ensures you feel truly seen and heard before a single vial is even filled.

Gena’s vision for Wholehearted was to bridge the gap between hard data and heart-centered healing. While Sandy helps us identify the "what" through precise functional labs, Gena and our clinical team work together to translate those numbers into a path forward.

As we expand this circle of care, we are so grateful to have Larinda Fandrich, DNP, leading the way for our primary care patients. Larinda takes the insights Sandy gathers and weaves them into a long-term plan rooted in lifestyle medicine — focusing on nutrition, sleep, and nervous system regulation.

In our practice, you aren't just a patient; you are a partner. Sandy handles the data, and our practitioners (Gena and Larinda) help you write the next chapter.

✨ We are currently accepting new insurance-based primary care clients for Larinda! If you’ve been looking for a medical home that values both clinical excellence and your sacred story, we invite you into our circle.
