We’re celebrating Brad Bowker, Optical Manager at our 27th Street location, on his 4(ish) year work anniversary.

Having worn glasses since the 4th grade, Brad knows firsthand how much the right pair can make a difference. He brings that experience, along with years in the optical field, to help our customers find eyewear that fits their vision, style, and everyday life.

When it comes to frames, Brad is a big fan of OVVO, preferring their lightweight feel, durability, and sharp look.

Congratulations, Amelia!

Amelia began interning with us in August 2024 and recently graduated with distinction from the College of Arts and Sciences at UNL. This fall, she’ll begin the next chapter of her journey at Indiana University School of Optometry, and we’re excited to see where her dedication and kindness take her.

Amelia is so kind that she took a moment to reflect on her time at Heartland Optical:
“I loved being able to work firsthand with patients, whether it was preparing them for their eye exam, their office visit, or a surgical follow-up,” she says. “Learning from three amazing optometrists here at Heartland Optical has been invaluable.”

In 2006, co-owners and brothers Casey and Tom Conrad were ready to grow their family-run lens lab so they could serve more customers and offer a broader selection of eyewear.

They found the right fit at 1012 North 27th Street, which would become our Main location. Twenty years later, it’s hard to believe how much has changed—and how much this community has helped us grow.

Yes, we have an office in Grand Island! Meet Dr. Paul Lackore.

Dr. Lackore has called Aurora, Nebraska, home for more than 30 years and enjoys caring for patients of all ages and vision needs. He is also an active member of the Nebraska Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Outside the office, he serves on the Aurora City Council, stays involved in his church, and enjoys spending time with family and staying active. Heartland Optical - Grand Island
