✨ Your Body Deserves Respect & Kindness ✨

Body image is how you see, think, and feel about your body—and it can change over time. Positive body image isn’t about loving every part of how you look. It’s about accepting, respecting, and appreciating your body for what it can do. When we treat our bodies with respect, we honor the teachings of our ancestors and protect our spirit. 🪶

Check out the flyer below for more information about body image and what we can do to build up the way we see ourselves. Your body is the home of your spirit and the strength of your ancestors. Treat it with care, love, and respect. ❤️

🪶 Talking to Our Children About Grief 🧡

Grief is something we all experience, and our children need support in their healing just as much as we do. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a pet, or changes in their world, our young ones may not always have the words to express what they feel.

We’ve created a short flyer with gentle guidance for Relatives, caregivers, and community members on how to talk to children about grief in a trauma-informed and culturally grounded way. 💬

Learn:
🌿 What grief can look like in children
🧡 Ways to support their emotions
🔥 How to incorporate cultural practices in healing

Let’s help our young Relatives carry their loss with strength, connection, and love. Download and share with others in your circle. 🧺

🌈 June is Pride Month — a time to honor love, identity, and the sacredness of being exactly who we are.

In many Native cultures, our LGBTQIA+ and Two-Spirit Relatives have always held a vital place in the circle — as healers, teachers, artists, and knowledge keepers. Their presence is not new — it is ancestral. It is powerful.

But today, many of our people still face barriers to mental wellness, from stigma to isolation.

At Morningstar Counseling, we believe that every identity deserves to be honored and supported, especially during times of struggle. To learn more about affirming LGBTQIA+ identities and building resilience, check out the flyer below.

🧠 Whether you're walking this journey yourself or supporting a loved one, this resource can help you understand the emotional and spiritual needs of our LGBTQIA+ community.

📄 Like and share this post to help us spread the word: Pride is more than a celebration — it’s a call to care for one another with compassion, respect, and truth. When we stand together, we heal together. 💜

🌿 May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and from May 5–11, we also recognize Maternal Mental Health Week.

Let’s take this moment to uplift our Native moms — the life-givers, nurturers, and wisdom-keepers of our communities. 💛

Even our strongest Matriarchs can experience emotional struggles during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum. Did you know that 1 in 5 women face mood or anxiety disorders during this time?

✨ You are not alone. It’s okay to ask for help!

Let’s break the silence and support the mental wellness of our mothers. Check out the flyer below to learn more about maternal mental health and how we can support our Native moms on their journey.

🧠💙 April is Autism Awareness Month: Honoring Neurodiversity in Our Communities💙🧠

In our Native traditions, we know that every person carries sacred gifts. This Autism Awareness Month, let’s take time to learn, listen, and lift up our Relatives whose minds work in beautifully different ways.

Autism is one way a person experiences the world. It can affect how someone communicates, learns, and connects—but it doesn’t limit their value. Remember, being neurodivergent means their brains work differently, not wrongly.

🌿 Let’s celebrate those differences.
🤝 Let’s create safe, welcoming spaces.
👣 Let’s walk together in understanding and respect

Together, we keep the circle strong when everyone is seen, heard, and valued. 💙 Check out the flyer below for more information about Autism and tips for how to be inclusive in ways that honor our cultural values.

April is National Counseling Awareness Month, a time to recognize the power of talking, sharing, and walking together on the path to healing.

In our communities, we’ve always known the strength of storytelling, seeking guidance, and supporting one another. Culturally responsive counseling is another way to do this—honoring our traditions while providing tools for healing and growth.

💛 Counseling is for everyone. Whether you’re facing stress, grief, anxiety, or trauma, the right counselor will listen without judgment and help you find the path that feels right for you.

Looking for culturally responsive support? Here are some tips:
✔ Seek a counselor who understands Indigenous experiences 🪶
✔ Find someone who honors your culture, values, and traditions 🌿🔥
✔ Trust your feelings—you should feel safe, heard, and valued 💬💙
✔ Ask your community—Elders, friends, and Indigenous health organizations can be great resources!

✨ You don’t have to walk this path alone, Relatives we are here for you!

🌙 Rest as Medicine: Honoring the Sacred Power of Sleep 🌿
In many Native traditions, sleep is more than just rest—it is a sacred time of renewal, healing, and balance. Yet, in our roles as caregivers, educators, and healers, sleep is often sacrificed, leaving us disconnected from our full strength.

Quality sleep is essential for emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. It sharpens our minds, strengthens our resilience, and helps us walk in balance. Traditional teachings remind us that dreams hold wisdom, and modern science affirms what our ancestors always knew—sleep is a powerful medicine.

It’s time to honor rest, not as a luxury, but as a sacred practice of self-care and community well-being. 🌿💙 Check out the flyer below to learn more about this topic and get tips for improving your sleep.

How do you prioritize rest in your life? Share your thoughts in the comments! 👇🏽
