National Night Out in Hastings, Nebraska

The team was proud to participate in the annual National Night Out celebration at Brickyard Park in Hastings, Nebraska. This nationwide event is aimed at raising awareness about crime and drug prevention, generating support for local law enforcement, and strengthening community ties. It also serves as a powerful statement that neighborhoods are standing together against crime.

The Hastings event was organized by the Hastings Police Department - Nebraska in collaboration with the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce's Crime Prevention Task Force. Hundreds of residents came out to enjoy the festivities, community engagement, and free food — with enough supplies for 750 meals given away throughout the evening.

It was a great opportunity to connect with the community.

Hats off to Business Account Manager Cassy Kvasnicka and Pre-Employment Transition Services Coordinator Jodi Petersen who hosted an information booth at the 3rd Annual Disability Pride event in Kearney, NE. They played a game to engage attendees where participants had to guess the career by drawing a hat. (The theme for the event was “Hat's-Off to Disability Pride” so their activity was a great way to start a conversation.) Contact the Kearney Service Office to learn more about services!

The Nebraska Department of Education is moving ahead on priorities of literacy, chronic absenteeism and workforce development.
