Each month, we celebrate the artists whose work brings beauty, comfort, and inspiration to the April Sampson Cancer Center.
For July, we’re highlighting McCook Blue—a vibrant collection on display in the art alcoves near our infusion suite. This thoughtful series from Mike Nesbit adds a sense of calm and connection to the space, offering a welcome pause for patients, visitors and staff.

“In the gentle tones of McCook Blue’s work, may you find peace between treatments—and a reminder of all that holds you steady through the journey,” said artist Mike Nesbit.

Cancer Partners of Nebraska is proud to welcome Dr. Justin Burr, a radiation oncologist, to our growing medical team at the new Kearney Cancer Center.

A native of Kenesaw, Nebraska, Dr. Burr completed both his medical degree and residency at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha.

“I’m thrilled to return to central Nebraska to care for the community that raised me,” said Dr. Burr. “Since the beginning of my training, it has been a dream to come home to deliver excellent, dedicated care and provide consistency to the oncology community in the region. There is no other place my family and I would rather be, and I’m honored to be part of Cancer Partners of Nebraska and this new chapter in cancer care in Kearney and central Nebraska.”
