We’re excited to introduce our radiation oncology team, led by Dr. Justin Burr, radiation oncologist, and supported by Shelby Miller, APRN, who works closely with Dr. Burr to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. Together with our skilled dosimetrists, therapists, and physicists, the team is dedicated to delivering precise, personalized treatment that maximizes effectiveness and minimizes side effects—helping patients maintain quality of life throughout their journey.

Celebrating Local Art at ASCC
Each month, we celebrate the artists whose work brings beauty, comfort, and inspiration to the April Sampson Cancer Center.

For November, we’re proud to feature local artist Aaron Holz, whose three large-scale pieces are displayed near our infusion center. Their location was chosen for its visibility to patients, and the vibrant floral imagery provides a sense of light and warmth without the need for external lighting.

One of the featured works highlights Scutellaria barbata, or barbed skullcap—a plant known for its natural compounds that can target cancer cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed. “It’s also a beautiful plant,” Holz shared. “I loved painting its delicate purple flowers against a vibrant magenta background.”
