Your voice matters! We're looking for patients and family members to join our Patient & Family Advisory Council.

As an advisor, you’ll help shape care by sharing feedback and ideas to improve the patient experience and quality of care. Currently, our advisory team is collaborating with UNL students to create an illustrated booklet about the benefits of having our resident physicians care for patients.

The 4th of July is all about fun, food, and fireworks—but let’s keep it safe, too! Before you celebrate, check out these quick safety tips:

• Keep fireworks out of young kids’ hands—older kids should have an adult nearby.
• Eye protection is a must for anyone lighting fireworks.
• Light one firework at a time, and never hold them while they’re lit.
• Make sure you’re in a clear, open space—away from people, homes, and anything flammable.
• Keep a bucket of water handy. Soak used (or unused) fireworks for a few hours before tossing them out.

Every July, we say goodbye to our third-year resident physicians and wish them well as they graduate and begin their medical practice, and we welcome our new first-year resident physicians. It's a great opportunity for our patients to receive care from the brightest physicians who come to Lincoln to complete their Family Medicine Residency training.

As a reminder to our patients, you may be seen by a different physician on your next visit to our clinic. These physicians are looking forward to providing you with exceptional family medicine care.

We are pleased to welcome back Shannon Miller, LIMPH, LADC, to our team!

Shannon is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has 18 years of counseling experience, providing substance use and mental health counseling predominantly for adults, ages 18 and older.

She treats patients with co-occurring disorders, mental health conditions, and substance use. This includes people struggling with:
• Chronic pain/medical illness
• Schizophrenia
• Depression
• Anxiety/panic
• Bipolar disorder
• Trauma/PTSD

We've revved up our engines to make Shelly's last day with us a winner!

After 23 amazing years at Lincoln Family Medicine Center, Shelly, CMA, is retiring. Over the years, she has provided exceptional care to patients and bringing heart and dedication to everything she does. Her kindness and skills have made a lasting impact on everyone who has worked with her.

We’re so excited for what’s ahead—especially now that she has time on her side for more NASCAR adventures!
