1 in 10 people live with a rare disease.

On we uplift the patients who are on a rare medical journey and celebrate the physicians who are there every step of the way, empowering their patients with the knowledge and guidance they need to make the health care decisions that are right for them.

Why does testifying on LB1212 matter?

LB1212 would create an alternate licensure pathway for internationally trained physicians.

Jodanne Hedrick, DO, shared why it's important that this bill reflect physician input:
“Safeguards must be in place to protect the public, ensuring national standards are met as designed by U.S. Specialty Boards. Uniform standards must be created.”

Wesley Zeger, DO, explained why it matters for patients:
“So patients know they are getting care that is similar to any U.S.-trained physician—they deserve the best. We feel U.S. health care is the best care patients can get in the world.”

Thank you to Dr. Hedrick and Dr. Zeger for testifying on LB1212.

Medical student registration for our 2026 Physician Advocacy Breakfast increased over 300% this year, reflecting strong interest in leadership, advocacy, and involvement in organized medicine early in their careers. The momentum is real, and it’s exciting to see!
