Listen in!

Last week, State Senator Eliot Bostar joined An Arm and a Leg to discuss NMA Priority LB77, Nebraska’s new prior authorization reform law.

Senator Bostar walks through how Nebraska managed to pass one of the most aggressive laws of its kind, what made it possible, and why it matters for both physicians and patients.
NMA is proud to have worked alongside Sen. Bostar to make this important step toward reducing administrative burdens and improving access to care.

In states like Nebraska and Virginia, new laws could help a ton of people. In states like Nebraska and Virginia, new laws could help a ton of people.

Last night, the Nebraska Medical Association proudly recognized our physician members who began their medical careers in 1975 and have dedicated fifty years to medicine, their patients, and to the mission of the NMA at our 50-Year Physician Recognition Banquet.

This truly special evening was about more than marking time—it was about recognizing a lifetime of compassion, healing, resilience, and service.

Our honorees have witnessed medicine evolve in ways once unimaginable, yet through it all, they remained steady in their purpose. They are pioneers, role models, and keepers of a legacy that continues to inspire generations of physicians.

On behalf of the NMA Board of Directors and our members, we thank you for your dedication, your impact, and the countless lives you’ve touched over the past five decades.

Congratulations to our 50-Year Honorees!

As students return to campus for another year of medical school, we’re reminded of the important role of the patient-physician relationship. Students are preparing to be caring and trusted healers, and advocates for their patients, their communities, and their profession.

Becoming a doctor is about more than clinical acumen, says the AMA’s board chair. It’s about advocating for patients and the profession.
