NAPA is headed to the State Capitol to advocate for physician assistants and patients during the 2026 Nebraska legislative session. We are backing LB914 and LB955, two bills that matter for PAs across the state.

LB914 would update the Medicine and Surgery Practice Act by removing liability for physicians and physician groups for the negligent acts of PAs working under supervision, helping clarify and modernize how PAs practice with their physician partners.

LB955 would allow PAs who prescribe under collaborative agreements to enter into practice agreements with pharmacists, expanding opportunities for team-based care and helping improve medication management and patient access.

Advocacy and legislative engagement are core parts of what NAPA does to protect and grow the PA profession in Nebraska. We’re proud to represent your voice at the Legislature and work on policy that supports your practice and the patients you serve.

Congratulations to Darcy Jones, recipient of the NAPA Bonnie Shearer Professional Scholarship! 🎉

Darcy shares a meaningful connection to Bonnie Shearer, who was one of her pediatrics instructors during her time in the UNMC Physician Assistant Program. Receiving this scholarship is a full circle moment as she continues advancing her education and service to the profession.

She serves at CHI Health in Omaha as medical site leader for Priority Care and Virtual Quick Care, and recently earned her DMSc from UNMC as a member of the program’s first cohort.
