Roper and Sons Funeral Home Roper & Sons Funeral Home is now in our 120th year of serving Lincoln, Nebraska families with honor, integrity, and dignity.

Four generations strong and founded in December of 1901, Roper & Sons Funeral Home has been serving Lincoln families with honor, integrity, and dignity for 120 years. Roper & Sons Funeral Home was founded in December 1901, when Charles H. Roper began offering funeral services with Charles Beecher. The first facility opened at 124 South 13th Street, and began the longstanding tradition of offering

funeral services with the honor, integrity, and dignity that Lincoln deserves. The current building at 4300 O Street was opened in 1959 and continues as our primary facility today. Roper & Sons Funeral Home continues to uphold Charles H. Roper’s commitment to serving Lincoln residents and the surrounding communities as well as keeping the business in the hands of family. The business is now managed by Tom Roper and Dean Schneider, along with Bill Roper and Charles "Pooch" Roper.

We're kicking off our 4th annual Here's To The Heroes award recognition!

We all know someone who goes the extra mile. They may not wear a cape, but their kindness, generosity, and support make a real difference.

There are many everyday heroes among us––take the time to nominate someone you feel is deserving of this recognition. Nominations will be accepted now through September 15. Find a nomination form at the link in the comments.

The 2025 Here's To The Heroes recipients will be recognized at Hub & Soul on Friday, September 26.

"Roper's team led us through the process of preparing my husband for his final resting place with compassion and grace. We had so many questions about processes and decisions, and we were always provided with solutions that met our needs and wishes."

Helping families understand their options when it comes to planning a funeral so they can make the best decisions that are right for them is an important part of our role as a funeral home. Families come first for us.

A special thank you to our guest speakers––Attorney Andrew Loudon of Ball, Loudon, Ebert & Brostrom, LLC, and Kristine Dykeman-Schoening and Kaye Jesske of Bridge to Better Living. We enjoyed partnering with you to provide education on this important topic.

We're pleased to welcome William Archer, one our student interns, to our team! William is from Omaha, Nebraska, and he is finishing up his last semester at UNL.

Why did you choose to work with Roper & Sons?
"One of my professors challenged us to do something we have never done before. I was able to visit the Roper & Sons Midtown Chapel on a class trip for my Gerontology course. During the visit, Steve and Leslie were friendly and provided tons of insight into the services they provide."

What are you most looking forward to learning?
"I will graduate this summer with a Bachelor of Science in Education & Human Sciences. My studies have focused on family science, gerontology, and human development. I am eager to utilize my studies and continue to develop skills and information that assist/support the families and loved ones of those who require our services."

What do you like to do in your free time?
"Play basketball, walk my golden doodle Lola, take a nap, and do any form of competition. I also appreciate nature: Hawaii and Colorado are by far the best places I have been able to visit."

We are lucky to have William on our team!
