Bluestem Health is a federally qualified health center (FQHC), which is a federal designation from the Bureau of Primary Health Care. FQHCs are either located in, or serve, a federally designated medically underserved area/population. All FQHCs must operate under a consumer Board of Directors governance structure, and provide comprehensive primary health care, dental, and mental health/substance abuse services to persons in all stages of the life cycle. FQHCs provide their services to all persons according to their ability to pay. There are over 1,400 Community Health Centers across the country that provide vital primary care to over 18 million Americans with limited financial resources. In 2019, Bluestem Health saw nearly 20,000 individual patients and serves as a “medical home” to its patients. The definition of a medical home is the coordination of care from care plans to appointments with specialists. The patient receives consistent care from birth through old age. The medical home serves as a guide to community support services from education to transportation.

Thank you, Schattner Foundation, for supporting our patients with Swap When Sick education kits. Through this partnership with the Smile Guardian Program, these kits help children and families learn a simple, healthy habit: replace toothbrushes after illness to help stop germs from spreading.

We appreciate all efforts to bring practical dental health education to our community.

Great care starts with people who know how to put patients at ease. Our dental hygienists make our patients feel comfortable while also providing the education to build healthy habits that last.

Thank you to Sherri Elliott, RDH, LMT, and Megan Overfield, RDH, for your patient-first approach.

Dr. Sudman studied at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, earned his DDS from the UNMC College of Dentistry. He devotes most of his free time to his two daughters, often going to concerts with them and swimming at the lake.

The Nebraska-Iowa rivalry is alive and well at Kreshel Clinic today. We respect John Grandgenett’s Iowa loyalty, but he’s definitely outnumbered in black and gold.

Colin, on the other hand, is refusing to choose a side.

A huge thank you to Brit for the kind Google review.

“I had been awake all night in severe pain, and nothing was helping. I called and got an emergency dental appointment. I ended up needing a tooth pulled, and my healing process was amazing with very little pain. I absolutely recommend this place.”

As a reminder, our emergency dental clinic is now available every Thursday and is here for anyone dealing with pain like Brit’s.
